i dont understand - there is a degree of an upset?

im pretty sure its kind of cut and dry, you either win or you lose, its either expected or completly out of left field


an upset can be factored down like SJ's has been (or your 3 examples), but you cannot dispute that at the time it was an upset. you can say they were underrated at the time, but guess what? at the time of the game being played its called an upset

HELL YES!!!!!!

For starters, ANY time an underdog wins, it is an upset.

As for the degree of an upset, they vary greatly, and over time, the picture becomes clearer of how big on an upset it was with the exception of a championship game ala the Giants stuffing the Video-tapers....instant huge upset.

Nadal beating federer, an upset, but not a huge one


If you want to say at THE TIME it was a HUGE upset, hell yeah, no denying that, and i never did, BUT, as the season played out, it turns out not to be that big of one.

im pretty sure ive been saying "at the time" since i started commenting on that game being an upset and a pivotal point in SJs year

I will not move anywhere away from my stance about the bigger upset.

I don't think I said it was NOT an upset, I disagreed with it being the biggest upset. Our game was week 1 vs reno, so even "At the time" I disagree with since the SJ upset was in week 3.

SO yes, I did miss you saying (agreeing with the original person who said) "at the time", but like i said, it was week 3, we got beat in week 1. At the time, our loss still held court. You repeated over and over that it was hardly an upset. Ridiculous.

season 2 Haiti - 10-5 (cant find a player on your team thats been there longer than game 2, although i gave up after i went through the bulk of your starters

Reno - 7-9 with 3 games lost by less than 4

last season you beat them by a FG

game 1 - meaning you have no other upset material to go by at the time other than the previous season, eh not that exciting compared to the SJ game


as it stands now a little more impressive, and SJ's is a little less impressive


but as i stated countless times and you failed to grasp until this page when you agreed with me, but then quickly 180'ed after you realized that you were actually saying i was right - i was going by AT THE TIME

At the time it happened I would have said San Jose over Rhine, but they have turned in a very solid season. If I had to pick one right now I'd say Reno over Little Haiti.
