I was just about to say this. If you look at his logs etc, he barely has any sacks.. Even thought it shows something like 51.. He cant do crap against good teams.. Or even teams.. only ones he can blow out..

thats what a strength DE will do. The higher OL you get, the stronger they are, and therefore the harder to get by via high strength.

That's just dumb. If any particular de build is susceptible to over-inflated stats against crappy OT's its those moronic SPD builds. A good STR build isn't relying on STR to get by the OT, its using STR to neutralize the OT's greatest advantage.

back from your short hiatus?

that may be true now but with the new updates, the Jack load str de build will be nerfed. the spd builds already account for all the minor skills that the str build doesnt. and those usa pro league leading guys use those "moronic spd builds"

By "hiatus" do you mean I became extremely busy since I was game-planning for playoff games? The answer is yeah.

Contrary to your baseless assumption, the new updates are going to stress the primacy of the STR builds. SPD builds will be completely useless against the run. And if you don't think that most teams are going to be doing everything they can to run right over the d-line with the new changes, then you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

I also see that you're back to the "omgwtf secret sauce Pro build" routine. Use the pee brain that God gave you and think through the match-up between a DE and OT in this game and maybe -- just maybe -- you'll actually have original thought for the first time in your life.

first off, god doesnt exist.
second off, all the things i was talking about was about pass rushing. yes str build will have edge on run stopping but spd builds have been upgraded in pass rushing

I'll open mine for a day or 2 to get opinions/comments. He fared decent this season in BBB.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=129466

What I find interesting is that his bars are still yellow, but has seemed to do better than the green bar DE's in the league. I'm suspecting a more well-rounded build is better than the 2 stat max-out types I often see. Just a thought...

I actually agree with this a lot. My DE met these benchmarks at lvl 20 but he hasn't been very effective at the pass rush at all.

I'm suspecting he had 10 sacks in a blowout game

thank you deebo. I just started my DE and here he is:

-lvl 2-

Strength: 26.5 Blocking: 10.2
Speed: 16.5 Tackling: 10.5
Agility: 25.5 Throwing: 10
Jumping: 10.2 Catching: 10
Stamina: 10.2 Carrying: 10
Vision: 10.2 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 10.2 Punting: 8

my next 3 levels I am only going to add SP into strength to get that over 40. Then I will work on speed and agility the next level and then go back to strength. So by the time I am a lvl 8 I should have strength over 50, speed and agility close to 30. Then I will work on my vision.

Importance of Strength
This was my first DE build in GLB, and I guess I got lucky. I just did what made sense. You have to know your enemy with anything, and in this case a DE is going up against an OT. So...what makes an OT great? Strength and blocking. So knowing that off the bat, you need to get that strength up asap. Like, first thing you need to be doing is strength and stamina (for snaps). Two things I see a lot of people doing is wasting their SPs on Tackling and the skill tree. The skill tree isn't going to work if you don't have the skills to go behind it. You shouldn't even be worrying about your Tree until lvl 8 honeslty. So yeah, strength strength strength all day until the soft cap is over. By LVL 8 you need to buy some custom equipment and put either all 6 on strength or 3 strength/3 agility or 2/strength/2 agility/2 speed - NOTHING ELSE. This is where you can start feeding your tree. Get 1s all the way across except the Big Sack, that can come later. So you should be spending 4 points on your Pass Rusher Tree, then you should be using your custom equipment to boost your Containment (Run Stuffer) tree. I don't care if you're a pass rusher or not, the containment tree will help you immensely.
Goal by LVL20 - Strength in the 65-70 range; no more than 3's across Pass Rush Tree; 1's across Containment Abilities

If you want to make a real good DE don't even read this paragraph that the OP posted. It is way off.

I agree with this statement. Strength DEs are HIGHLY overrated in general.
