Large online football userbase. Then you in no way integrate...
1. Paid Fantasy Football (you can either have it yourself on the site, or get an official sponsor with nice kickbacks).
2. A referral system that isn't worthless.
3. Affiliates. Just give them a kickback % on flex bought.
4. Football related advertisements.
5. Different price points. Perhaps a 50% cost, 0% refund option. Simply put, there are people who will not care about the refund and view dots as too expensive to start making. Creating an olineman for 150 flex/season brings you into micro-transaction territory, something very good for online games...
#1/#4 are free moneyz, perhaps substantially.
#2/#3 are how you get new members with minimal effort and no advertising budget.
Even with this new user unfriendly game, you could have gotten a lot more from the above. And honestly while I respect them trying to be ad-free, every person here would rather have a couple advertisements/page than have the game move to it's slow painful death.
Keep in mind it's too late for all that. The userbase is far past it's prime and jaded, and they've made the horrible decision to create a 2nd football MMO (follow by whatever you think mightybrawlers is). We are left to take solace in the fact that in 5 years (I'm sure sooner) warriorgeneralgames will be clearly and 100% out of business due to their piss-poor decisions.
Oh and I cannot even almost comprehend the fact that glb2 (and mb) was made without a full integrated android and iphone apps. Browser games are no longer a real thing to get moneys from the masses. People don't sit around killing time on their internet browser games, they do it on their phones... Creative "mobile browser friendly" webpages is not even almost a quality solution.
This rant is what it is, and I've accepted GLB is far past the point of no return. But to pretend GLB's decline is solely due to the community eventually losing interest is an incredibly simplistic and incorrect view imho.
Anyhow lem, I'm still here and having fun for a bit longer. You clearly are not. No need for you to come in here and pretend the game no longer exists just because you no longer associate with it.
Wise, that's a spot on post. You really understand business. Lost opportunity but at least we have had quite a few seasons of fun and a few more before the wheels fall off completely.
