this worked in usa a 4 earlier this season. i think it will always work, as long as the skills+agility are high enough WITH RESPECT TO whatever vision the defense has. so with 20 vision defenders, maybe 40 agility and 7-8 points are enough. with 40 vision defenders, you would need maybe 12 points, with 55 or so agility...course that's just a random guess with no data to back it up.

I agree. It's an awesome idea, and I tried it out myself with poor results at higher levels. In the end, I had sunk so many points into SA's and not enough into attributes that I had to retire my back. The fact is, at higher levels, the SP come so slow (due to less exp), that a build like this will get owned by defenses at higher levels. The defenders are just too fast, and have too much vision. Still, it's fun to tear up the D-leagues for a bit =D

It will work against higher leveled players just so long as you get the right combination of SAs to attributes. If it doesn't work then why would Bort make the SAs?

Head fake will work on defenders with less than 30 vision often enough that it will be effective. With people with 20 vision it works so much it is rediculous. So no matter what level the competition is it could work so long as there are some defenders with 25ish vision

what are you basing these numbers on?

the ability says it works on defenders w/ low vision.

i'm sure it's just his opinion on what low vision is..

figured, I was just curious if he actually kept track of who he paralyzed.

Wouldn't more levels in a certain skill make it work against players with increasing levels of vision/agility? Or does more levels in a skill just make it work even more on players with low agility/vision?

Both, but you start running into cost-effectiveness problems at higher SA levels.

I see, thanks for the info. But I guess you start running into cost-effectiveness problems with every-thing, attributes and SAs, they higher you go don't you?

Yeah, but particularly for head-fake, it isn't worth it. ALL defenders will be pumping up vision now, especially with penalties becoming a part of the game, and head-fake is rendered useless well before the vision soft-cap, which will become more and more common.

You're still gonna have to add a few to Head Fake so that you can get points into Juke and Spin (which DO work on higher visioned players) so you might as well make it worhtwhile I guess?

Meh, now you're talking about dozens and dozens of SP wasted... attributes are still the most important, IMO.

As said earlier, I was signed onto a real team in a new A league with a level 13 cap. My guy is level 10... we'll see how he does. He is the backup, by the way.

Remember, many secondary players like vision because you need it to get INTs. The front 7 doesn't invest as heavily, but good luck faking out a level 21 defensive back with 50 vision and points in the Super Vision SA.

So, given the nature of SAs, this head fake centric player is going to perform worse as he levels simply due to the reduced relative effectiveness of Head Fake. At some point (probably in the 20s) this player will become considerably worse than your average competition because of the late development of attributes.

Using this test as the end all be all test of head fake may not yield believable results.

Head fake works less than I expected at higher levels of competition. I'm in USA Pro.

Yup, vision actually exists in USA Pro.

I should rephrase. It works, but not as well as I had wanted.

I've definitely faked some players out of their jocks. But we also don't know if that was a head fake or a juke.
