You vastly underestimate the ease of which to counter that.

The good ones might. But either way, the cat & mouse game adds new things for people to try & test new schemes with new build strategies.

There are still exploit blitzes. They have always been exploit blitzes. The only thing the full DPC did was to make games a shitload more fun to plan and watch because you weren't using the same damned thing over and over again. Creativity was encouraged.

+1
and that creativity added to the interest level.

Things like WR starting position shifts would not really affect much if it was limited and the routes did not change, but it would give more of a custom feel to the agent making those adjustments rather than be stuck with the pre-made offensive plays. Slight O-line shifts on those pass plays would also add to that "custom" feel.

One of the biggest reasons I have always proffered to DC rather than OC is just that, not being limited to just the pre-determined Bort plays. Also why I have stayed away from casual league ownership for the most part.

I think allowing adjustments to offensive run plays would be over powered (possibly)

I fully understand why he didn't want users to have control over O-line specific blocking, not sure why slight shifts like strong/weak/bunched would be a problem for him as long as they still had same blocking scheme/assignments set.

Edit to clarify my thought: I am thinking on pass plays only

it has nothing to do with not wanting to give users control over it. It is just a huge pita to code I assume.

Except it already was open.

The first part of eliminating static deadness is letting the game grow beyond the extreme use of some of the plays that have been stuffed down all our throats for way too long. If even just for a trial season there has to be some worth in that.

Completely agree. It has to be done or this game won't last the year....

Everyone would get very excited and the game would be awesome during the regular season. Then in the playoffs all the DCs would input all of the nano blitzes they had been storing away during the regular season and the game would look totally broken for 6 days. Then people would complain and it would get disabled because that is what basically happened every season while we had it.

People complain?
The nerve of them!

Instead of gimping the DPC, they should have just allowed an OPC to go with it. But of course that would actually require "work" from the powers that be, and since their work ethic has always been bankrupt, it was just easier to take something away versus adding something new that would equate to value.

The difference between people who actually know how to run a business and those that don't and ultimately fail, is usually just a matter of effort........

Which has always been the mantra here....... too hard, can't be done, would take too much work. Question for you koolade guy, do you really put much thought or even care about what work was done, or needs to be done, for the next Iphone build? Would you buy another one if, when you as a customer ask, "I'd like some more features"......... and their answer was "wow, that would take a long time to code. I would bet that is NGTH."

Didn't think so.

Do you really put much thought into your arguments?

Go look up Apple's company and come back and give me more comparisons between 2 guys working in a living room. lol

i'd welcome any effort at all to mix things up. a few new offensive plays/ forms wouldnt hurt either

Hell, the "new" offensive plays could simply be the larger number of *existing* plays that OCs had to use once the Big I pitch could no longer be counted on to grind up the clock.
