If we could create players at any level by using flex I would probably stay a bit longer as well.

Why they won't do something like that is beyond me.

Agreed. I liked Corndog's suggestions a few months back even better of paying a monthly fee and being able to build an entire team for oneselves. If they did that there would instantly be enough teams to build the leagues back up and create a more dynamic product. There would have to be other things to go along with that, such as ways to streamline building so many dots, but if they put that together with some of the other really good suggestions floating around*, you could have a great game to go with what has been a really good sim.

I have said it before but I will say it again, it blows my mind they worked so hard to achieve a good sim, and once they hit close to where it should be they moved on to the next product.

*Other good suggestions
-Insta 79s. If people were able to own their whole teams for a cheaper fee, this could still work. Some could choose the old fashion way, some could go straight to the regpro/pro/wl pyramid.
-Pay small reward flex to people who do write ups in league forums that generate traffic. 0 cost, big reward.
-Add more offensive plays to give more variety and the vets around here something new to chew on. Free up the DPC and allow OCs to adjust protections. Find ways to implement on side kicks, play action passes and option plays. These things bring back your coordinators, who are the key to success in this game.

These things would bring more money, and make a game I would tell friends about. I understand this game isn't the top priority and honestly that doesn't bother me. There still has to be some effort though, because there is still more money bert and crew can squeeze out of this, and more enjoyment for the rest of us to get out of this. Bert and Cornblade get a lot of grief for where they are today, but honestly the game that is built is pretty fuckin impressive. Maybe I am different but if I accomplished something on that scale I would be damned if I'm letting it slide out knowing there are things I could have at least tried to save it. GLB didn't need a sequel just like Maddens don't really need sequels. They just need constant updates to keep the product fresh.

This would be great. I've rolled a few players every off-season for probably 4 seasons now and ended up retiring all of them before the season was over. The couple I rolled this past off-season will be the same way. I just lose interest in that long, drawn out process.

Even if something like this being implemented was a sure sign that they were gonna be closing the doors, I'd still spend money. As long as I was having some fun with it.

Everyone would just spam WL dots.

The problem with instant 79s is they will have to drop the minor leagues entirely which I bet they are not willing to do yet. I wish they would though. I would build a bunch of players. I have hit a critical mass of dots in which I do not want to have anymore that I have to regularly keep up with. But if I could slam them all out at once I would build a 55 man team or maybe even two teams again.

Then you have to consider whether they would change the cost structure to make the new 79s available for just 5 seasons, or keep the cost structure and allow them to play plateau for all 12 seasons. If the latter, they will have to find a reasonable transition for the current generations of players who have been spending money to play in the minor leagues.

At this point it is something that they need to consider, but I doubt they are.

Better to lose the Rookie league than to lose everything...

The only leagues you could reasonably expect to survive past the first season after implementation are PeeWee, Regional Pro leagues, Regional Pro Casual leagues, National Pro, Casual Pro, and World League. However, all of those would be filled out with MUCH more competition and activity.

I am assuming some of the die-hards are still kickin'. Less CPU teams in Gold than a couple of the Nat. Pro leagues.

I agree. I was really excited when they said we could build dots faster, and really disappointed when it still took a year to build one.
