A DC can set up a defense that pretty much half-ass covers everything without over-committing to one dot. May give up some big plays but will basically win the war despite losing some battles.

Typical little victim always trying to get someone else to protect them. And in this case I would about bet if you call DubJ. He is going to basically say the same thing. You are undoubtedly the one person on this game that in reality. Rides the little yello bus and is truly a window licker. Because if you weren't you would see how irrelevant you are. And how much fail you really spew in the forums. And furthermore anyone that has joined your network is in dire need of assistance.

End game I feel the game is fairly balanced atm, but yeah in those middle levels defense dominates, but that's more about what offenses can't do well as opposed to what defense does right.

Rookie Level
Regular Season is meh if you can't make the playoffs then someone is building dots wrong. Once you hit the playoffs it's all about OCs knowing they can no longer pass as well as they did with younger dots and scoring early. Once you're behind you can't catch up because passing becomes a joke. DCs that made the playoffs probably have learned to tag the rushing QB and stop the Elusive HBs on the outside so it's just a matter of getting the defensive dots in the right place at the right time.

Rookie playoffs can be hard against a good DC and you don't get any lucky breaks with a dot breaking free. Most of the time I was praying for a KR TD.

Prep Level
By this level, passing has gone to shit unless you're playing a scrub team so you save those games to make your QB and WRs happy. Most DCs know to cover the outside so it's all about pHBs on Off Tackle runs where the defense can't recover. Most DCs are slow to adjust to that and playoffs are easy to make.

This age group is where DCs struggle to adjust to covering the middle of the field during the playoffs and you start to see the pHBs really start to do some damage. Easy to run up the middle and off tackle to win games. DCs are at a disadvantage at this age level playoffs so it's nice to be an OC (as long as you're not passing).

University Level
At this age level dots have begun to round out some basic ability with Speed and Agility or Strength and Agility. So passing is tough unless people are left wide open or mistakes with tagging are made. Typically at this stage you've lost the beginning DC or OC so there are not as many basic mistakes, but passing into double coverage will kill you; packages here without a game plan will kill a passing game. Running game is opened up a bit more as DCs have tried to adjust to cover the inside and still cover the outside for Elusive backs; actually knowing which run play to call matters now.

Again playoffs are easy to make, but once there your play calling has to be more specific to their weaknesses. Passing is better when you have one on one situations, but double coverage is death. Run plays are open more, but must be the right plays. This is probably the first stage of the game where knowing what plays to call when is important. Mediocre coordinators here will kill your playoff hopes.

Regional Minor Level
This stage of the game you start to see players with AEQ so more and more SAs pop into factor. Quality dot builders start to come into play and the separation of experienced GLBers shows. This season is also when you start to see a the new users or the mediocre agents reset their teams. A true line in the sand is drawn between playoff teams and teams that won't last for long. This is the real reality check for teams that can't make the playoffs in any league; it's time to reset and try again. If you're really thinking about toughing it out and you're not in Elite, you're kidding yourself at this point and won't last long at the upper levels.

The regular season is mixed with teams that don't belong and you long time rivals you've faced since Rookie. More and more plays become available for the offense and the defense has to cover more the of the field. Receivers that can get open off of fakes and HBs that can break tackles wins games here.

National Minor Level
The who's who is set now and the teams that have players that have been built correctly, the right VA plan, and the right AEQ plan will easily beat teams they face. A good AI will walk you into the playoffs and face the same teams you've seen for a few seasons now. This is actually a stage in the game where winning can get boring as you already know who is going to win the league.

Semi Pro Level
Semi Pro isn't much different than the National Minors except it appears WL dormant farm teams begin to wake up and prepare for their return to the Pros. Again playoff teams from the last couple of seasons barely change and the only difference is which mediocre teams move in and out of your league.

Regional Pro Level
An interesting age level where you have teams that can't handle National Pro, teams with dots that should retire, and younger up and coming teams clash. It's a crap shoot for younger teams trying to face off with older dots, but the Elite of the Elite will still win and make the playoffs. Others will give Regional Pro another shot or request a swap to National Pro so they can get their shot. Either way this level is more like purgatory between teams that should stay together and teams that should reset.

So to answer your question Al it really depends on if you're considering making the playoffs as a challenge or not. In my opinion, if you can't make the playoffs in Elite, it's time to reset your team and try again. Maybe you just had bad chemistry or no coordinators, but if you're having issues like that you will always have issues like that.

For me... the Rookie playoffs were the hardest because if my offense was down, it was almost impossible to come back.

Uh, wow, Jon! That was a great write up...

We'll make playoffs in elite - I was just lamenting the fact that it was hard to fricking throw the ball with any consistency and the run game was being stuffed by defenses that are set up outside while my power back and full back are still trying to hit the line of scrimmage before half time....

I don't even get University as an OC http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1863

And I have the #1 offense in WL.

I find it even more difficult to watch games to figure Uni out.
