A ton of strength and protect SA? You can either cake them or use so much agility to counter it that you can't bully anyone on weak runs.

It depends on what you are doing. I see 140-145/110 dots do well. i see 160 strength/90 agility dots do well. If you don't pass, why are you protecting it? You are at worst case equally likely to clobber the agility DE as you are to cake him, and then I'd favor the OL guy.

I sent you a PM.

Interesting, then why do ppl even go with Pass Arch OTs? When you can cake these Tech man DEs/DTs

It is not a rule. It is an option. PB arch has favored SAs and different primaries.

thx Ez. ik these questions sound stupid, but its 1 thing to be told information and remember it.
But its another to know why what you were told actually works.

Initially I thought a center needed more speed than a guard. But it seems centers don't pull as much as guards on running plays so I'm thinking the reverse is true. Soooo:
Center should be 150+ str, 90ish agility, 80+ blocking (I like it higher but some don't)... and 70ish vision (my preferance. Some people like blind centers.)
Guard should be 145+ strength, 90ish agility, 70+speed, 85+ blocking, and 65+ vision.

You can make them better and different than that, but it is, at least, a good point to start from and improve from.

You want way more agility on a center in passing situations... they get eaten alive by those silly pass rush NT's

I considered that... but it's usually the LB that sneaks by while the center is blocking the NT that I see. Still, good info to have. Danka.

Right, but with all the tiny m2m CBs and stuff, do you think this will be a possibility in a few seasons?

Or should I just make speedy agile WRs to run my WR screens?

Power Wr's will never be a possibility. Too many attributes to raise and depends on break tackle SA's as well. Hard to make a WR who can beat the m2m CB's at catching the ball, then when you shave points away from attributes that help you beat these CB's to the ball you tend to just be worse.

I tried making a power WR a LONG time ago, Before APD, Before Archetypes. I was trying to take advantage of WR's getting .5 ALG's to carrying because they only had 2 minors (lol, who besides Bort would think of a position getting more ALG's for their minors rather than their majors?). 128 speed was fast enough back then too

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1764308&playoffs=0

Archetypes were added when he hit level 30 somethign like that, so I had already gotten some decent ALG's for carrying, but choosing an archetype kind of screwed carrying gains. Even competing against the shitty tiny CB's back then who couldn't tackle I still had limited success.
S21 in APL was probably his only mildly succesful season, 19 broken tackles on 46 receptions

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1637550&pbp_id=315390
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1637550&pbp_id=316738
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1583416&pbp_id=457796

As it stands, Power WR's can't get enough separation due to the sacrifices they make in speed and agility to get STR and CRY up to 80+. They also can't compete for contested balls as well because they have lower jumping and catching. So more of the balls thrown their way will result in incompletes, deflections, and drops. And if you can't ultimately come down with the ball, how then are you supposed to be breaking tackles afterwards?

^right.

Was contemplating the effectiveness of a pure screen WR, that won't be used in the passing game at all.
This entails no catching (ALGs only), and only 40 vision (SYM).

Gonna run some VPBs later

For the typical run blocking Linemen,

Aura of Int or Pummel for the Bonus skill

Also,

for the pulling linemen, bump more vision? 70+?
Or is vis for OL overrated
