Its really simple.

If there are six zones (ignoring the 1/4s 1/5s for simplicity),

ABC
DEF

then let the dots stay in those six zones unless running with a receiver going through the deep zone.

If for some reason the middle third deep is actually meant to be

=B=
A=C
DEF

Then call it Middle Extra Deep Third give us a freaking real Middle Deep Third that is in between A and C.

There is no logical reason for the middle zone to HAVE to leave a gap under him if he is not running with a receiver. None.

Yeah. But since no one is likely to fix this anytime soon, in the meantime, try bringing the SS down a little bit while maintaining the same zone setting. There's a sweet spot for the vision check to get what you're looking for. Find it. The way dots are aligned presnap have a pretty big impact on how the dot plays in that zone after the snap, from my limited experience.

Immediately functions something like medium, but it's only really useful for non-defensive backs. Defensive backs read pass first and have to pass checks to recognize the run. Linebackers read run first and have to pass checks to recognize the pass, so zone immediately bypasses that check and has them proceed directly to that zone without it.

Thanks

I meant does it effect where in the zone they move to, given the rest.

As to the other, it just didn't click. I read it and did not grok what was being said. It sounded to me like people thought I was being an idiot and wanted to set the guy to Under not Deep. Turns out I was just being an idiot in a different way.

Real light bulb moment here.

Stranger In A Strange Land reference, nice. I too played WCII back in the day. First on Kali then on battle.net. Can't tell you how many hours I spent playing on Garden of War.
