GLB is still an enjoyable game to play. I think the problem is so many of the users have been here for so long that they let their jaded vision of the game cloud their judgment. I remember playing this game in season 1... in season 8... in season 14... and the current iteration of the game is much better than any of those versions. Whenever you have an online game like this go on for the length of time it has, there is going to be a perception that things aren't as good as they should be... that more could be done... etc; etc; You simply can't please everyone in an online game so it is a developer's job to maintain some type of balance and I think Bort and GLB has done a good job of doing this. The game might not be perfect but it accomplishes most of what it sets out to do and that's to provide an enjoyable and interactive football role playing game.

Bottom line is...

We still work on GLB (the changelog proves this)...
We still talk about and discuss GLB with the users (we just had a live Q & A)...
We still love GLB and have no plans on it going anywhere despite working on other projects. This is, and always will be, the game that got Warrior General Games rolling and it still has too many positives (one of those being a very dedicated and passionate userbase) for us to ever consider giving up on it.

That would most certainly be the death of GLB.

If the "nicest people in GLB" thread was still around, this post would have you removed from my list.

In all honesty, here's the issue: The sim is better than ever but GLB isn't much fun anymore. So obviously a lot of the fun came from the community and not enough focus was given to that part of the experience. Pay more attention to that on your next game. Don't over-moderate and introduce more things to keep people around beyond just the game itself.

I'd like to see a more proactive leadership than reactive. initiate league rankings and 'game of the week' threads in the various league forums, sticky/move the really good suggestions, own/coordinate teams, have players spread around other teams etc.

actually play the game with us again, ya know. that'd be cool.

I have owned and coordinated teams. People complained when the team performed too well (and I could understand their complaints) that it wasn't fair that an employee of the site was taking away trophies from paying customers. It was at that point I decided I would no longer own and coordinate a team. I still build dots though and usually all it takes for me to build a dot for a team is for someone to actually take the time to send me a private message asking if I will. Hell, I might even build 2-3 if you ask nicely enough.

lolcasual. If anyone employed by GLB besides you knew anything at all about playing the game I would say they should do what I suggested about having experienced agents managing D-League teams to help guide those agents.

The sim is the best its ever been, I just dont think enough people waited around to see it. They quit out of frustration from previous sims.
