Indeed. What Donk3yMan said isn't true in the slightest.

Not necessarily true.

I see lots of level 40s that are built better than level 42s

I didn't say you can't be competitive... I have a few dots that missed first season boosts and have done great. You are forfeiting your desire to be compeitive pre-plateau. If you are willing to be 3 levels behind for almost the entirety of your dot's career for a very slight boost then you do not care about winning leagues before PL. I have never seen a team of all or even half dots 3 levels behind make it to an elite championship game.

Actually, that is exactly what you did say

The point is that by intentionally not boosting to 4, you are forfeiting your desire to be competitive before plateau.

No, I didn't. Being competitive and desiring to be competitive are different things. Someone who desired to be competitive would not want the huge disadvantage that not boosting to 4 will give you, particularly when the benefit later on is so small. Can your dots still generally do all right if you're a good builder? Yeah, duh. Will a team full of these dots be a gold contender in a tough league? No.

Clearly, we have the potential to be confused by what you are saying donkey when you are confused by what you have stated.

BTW, handicapping yourself does not mean you forfeit the desire to be competitive. That is simply ludicrous, and counter intuitive to what it means to be a competitive person.

So, to confirm ...

By not boosting to level 4 you can be competitive but you cannot desire to be competitive.

Thanks, that clears things up.
