I don't think you know what legible means.

leg·i·ble adjective \ˈle-jə-bəl\

Definition of LEGIBLE

1
: capable of being read or deciphered

Your mishmash of words can only be deciphered by making some leaps in logic. What continent does "making walls pushing down" come across as a meaningful use of words?

But again, instead of just answering "what is the point of your suggestion", you just want to argue that your gibberish in the OP is coherent on some level.

Let's try this again, what purpose does graying out text serve?

^With any sense, you would remove the ing from pushing, and boom, a perfectly understandable sentence,

as opposed to the original which I would only expect a 1st or 2nd grader with no concept of unintentional errors to give back to me saying, "I don't understand".

You're bad at this troll thing,
and you are unfunny -1,
help or go

Your edit is even worse by the way. You just added a few more out of place words between your previous out of place words.

I am trying to address the point that I think you might be trying to get across. How does graying out text make a post smaller and not "push away text pushing down page longwise and width"?

Collapsible text condense space. Making the font the same color as the background serves no purpose other than to hide spoilers about a specific topic.

Graying out text? You don't understand what I am asking for/what (i assume) other people +1d for.

That's not what you linked.

http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode#spoiler

It grays out text, nothing more.

Alternatively, we could look at "spoilers" being what they are, and the different ways different sites deal with it.

One way is graying out text, as you linked originally.

Another way is collapsible text, as you are claiming now.

Drop some conceit points and you should be able to understand the OP.

Other people did, and I am 100% people don't throw their +1s for nothing.

The tribalwars link is the example, not that other one with gray text,
even shame on you for not telling me 'that isn't what a spoiler is', and to 'look again',
but you accepted it and went on with it as an easy, pointless trulol oppurtunity.

I can see teams posting build plans for the entire team in a single thread with the use of spoilers,
it can make pages that are now riddled with text, look very clean and presentable, and (for the main reason of my suggestion):
Hold a lot more material.

It's not a ghetto site.

It deals with spoilers differently than another forum that you happened to be thinking of.

Which is why I said to specify it as collapsible text (which is what you are wanting), and not some kind of term like spoilers which is far from being specific as to what you are suggesting.

First time I have ever seen it used like that. What is with your obsession with the term 'collapsible text'?

Like I said earlier:
[[collapsible]] and [spoiler] are different. Their intentions may be the same, but their area of use is not the same.

I have no obsession with the term collapsible text.

That is just what you are suggesting, but calling it something else due to ignorance, and continued ignorance for arguing with me about it. I probably would have never mentioned the term again had you just went with "oh, yeah, that is what I am suggesting" rather than sticking to your guns on a vague term that can mean any number of things.

Please stop the bickering...

DB has a point, spoiler tags don't explain they suggestion very well. I happened to understand because another forum I used to frequent uses them and that's how they do it. At least I believe that's the point, as I skimmed through after all the slapping started.

jampy, I would suggest you edit the OP to more clearly explain the suggestion. It's a good one in my opinion, but unless you've used the type of spoiler tags you are referring to, it's awfully vague.

You're suggesting this

The "click to show more" button. That is collapsible text. Yes, some sites handle spoilers that way. Other sites handle spoilers by graying out text. I'm sure others handle spoilers in other ways. Rather than just the vague term of spoiler, you should be calling it what it is.

Maybe you'd prefer calling it expandable text? expand tag? I don't know.

[[collapsible]]

[spoiler]

NO to the first one.
YES to the second one.

keep going, I don't mind.
