No...you are wrong. Ive watched enough plays to know what you are saying to be wrong. Here is evidence that what Im saying, that it is a chance to fire, is true:

It isn't a chance based SA. More points only add to the acceleration.

Ok...care to elaborate on the plays that I posted above where surge doesnt fire? Those two plays, its pretty clear it should have fired if it was an all the time SA. He was not touched behind the LoS (unless Jerry Sandusky was on the field!) Maybe its just not showing up in the PBP then??

I can't really elaborate on the plays as neither you or I really know what is going on through the LOS there outside of the representing sim that we see.

There is no one even close to him on these two plays. If what you say was true, and I really wished it were the case, you should be able to put 1 point into Surge and see it fire. When I first put Surge on Dozer, just 1 point back around level 40 to test it, I should have stopped there, because Surge literally never fired with 1 point in it. It fires more frequently at the current level, but not nearly as often as I thought it would, but it definitely is not every rushing play like you say. I wish it was

On the first one (Power Thru) Fired, on the second one apparently nothing fired.

Surge is chance to fire based on points in the SA (as well as the boost to acceleration). The tool tip is misleading. I'll put it on my to do list to get Bort to update it this off season.

Would actually help any new users if the tips were worded better. So many are way to ambiguous and not much correct. At least IME.

just bullet point #720 on the list of basic game mechanics that for some reason had to be explained by the admins on the forums

Surge was playing good this past tournament. But Tiger was unconscious. I still like Surge more anyways.
