If it's pre-season, a scrim, or a tourney game, the Depth Chart doesn't lock, but it still locks for regular season games and playoff games.

And yeah, I try not to cut it so close, but shit happens, especially when you have a 2-year-old. Quite literally, actually.

Procrastinators. Always got an excuse. I've watched like over 9000 sims and never seen one start more than 40-45 minutes early.

Exactly. If Novus hadn't waited 8 1/2 months to buy the Plan B pill, he wouldn't be having this issue.

So if you've never seen it happen, that means it's never happened. Ever.

Got it. And since I've never seen you get laid (not that I'd want to), that means you've never been laid. Ever.

See the fallacy there, T2?

I'm usually done 4-6 hours before sim-time. Tonight was the rare exception.

Sooooooo many people missing the point in this thread...

For almost every game, I'm ready anywhere from 4 to 6 hours before the sim starts running. Tonight was the exception, and my team won anyway despite being locked out early.

So, this isn't about me procrastinating (I don't), nor is it about my team losing (we won).

I'm simply asking a simple question: why can't Bort and Catch set a deadline?

"Get your gameplanning done X minutes before the sim time. At any time within X minutes, the sim could start running and lock you out."

Catch thinks X is already "60 minutes." But MANY people have experienced X actually being 65 to 70 minutes, and even a couple of Mods seem to think X is actually 75 minutes. And there are people who have been burned because in their case X turned out to be 90 minutes.

If X is supposed to be 60 minutes, then why are sims starting 75 minutes before sim time? If X is actually supposed to be 75, why is the freakin' ADMIN of the game telling me it's supposed to be 60? Is Catch just wrong? Is there an intermittent bug in the sim servers? Is one of the sim servers out of synch time-wise with the others?

Pick a number. I don't care what number at this point, but just pick one.

I wish mine would sim that early. Mine range anywhere from 30 minutes early to about 5 minutes late.

Okay, so clearly you're in the camp that thinks I should stop whining and get my gameplan done 6 hours early.

Let me ask you this: would you be hurt in any way if Bort and Catch established an official one-hour window for a sim to run in? Do you have any reasons why it should stay the way it is now? Do you have any reasons why the way it is now is better? Or are you just trolling?

If you're just trolling, go to Free For All and let us grown-ups talk about this.

I can assure you this is not the "grown-ups" talking. Since you don't have a foundation for your argument, you have replaced it with a voluminous list of posts. I would imagine this is the forum method of trying to talk over someone. I'm surprised you aren't in all caps yet.

All I see is "My game started earlier and I didn't get my gameplan installed. It upsets me and here are several unrelated scenarios that would upset you too."

Make a suggestion and see if you can garner support through that route.

TL;DR is Worst. Poster. Ever.

Sim times appear to be influenced by how much stress is on the server, as they pretty regularly get behind for some leagues lower on the priority list. I'm not sure why they sometimes sim early, but it's pretty rare. Although it would be nice if we had a fixed time, that apparently isn't easy to do. Just plan on being done 90 minutes beforehand and if you aren't then it's your fault.

what could you have possibly done in the 4 min you lost?

regardless i would speculate that the date/time was off on which ever server your game was set to sim on. games should not sim "early" based on how all this scheduling works on the server side. the games slated for that hour are thrown into the server sim-queue at the top of the hour, and it processes them in allotted chunks. you will often see the previous hour sims slide into the next hour and push everything back, as bollick says.

while im not positive, i think reg season games take priority over insta's in that scheduling queue.
