sorry the question was greatest human being

Martin Luther King I assume you are talking about the father of Martin Luther King Jr. To bad Martin Luther King Jr.'s speeches and the movement he was the face of did very little to actually change much.

Homicide rate tripled and is currently double of 1955
Unemployment is also double what it was back in 1955

Blacks earned 55% of whites in 1955
Blacks now earn 57% of whites in 2012

The major fight was to get equal opportunity to education yet only 53.7% of blacks graduate high school.

u missed the major point...blacks didn't have the same chances to succeed as whites...and blacks still don't but it has improved since then.

gotta love people throwing out numbers. why dont more of us black people graduate HS, not because we dont have the opportunity, but too many allow other things to get in the way. Dr. King was fighting for us to have equal opportunity for equal education. homicide rate and unemployment are issues that people will inherently always have to face. and maybe 2% isnt enough progress, but does that number represent blacks and white working the same jobs, or as a total. maybe that speaks more to the jobs that black and white happen to hold
