I don't really care if they sign with a peewee or rookie. I only mentioned I've been helping out new users with peewee teams I've purchased so I didn't really turn this into a peewee/rookie debate.

Only reason I'm skeptical of rookie teams for new users is I fear it encourages them (new users) to hang on to terribly built dots/horribly ran teams for a long period of time.

I never said indefinitely... where did I ever say that?

I was more referring to an initial setup much like your PeeWee idea, but a sanctioned D-League setup where there are a group of approved builders who offer advice/answer questions/etc etc throughout the D-league to newcomers.

I never said HEY LETS MAKE TEAMS AND HAVE THEM GET STUCK WITH US. That would garner too much power and completely go beyond the point of the game itself... which I have no clue what the point is, but whatevs.

Again, I was merely saying we provide a better advisory setup to noobies and give them a chance to soak in the complexities one question at a time. I'm sure most veterans can answer the basics, but the basics still send a lot of people straight to regional competitive.

Not true. I played in PeeWees for several seasons when I first signed. I KNEW I wasn't gonna build killer dots right out of the gate and wanted to spend my first seasons learning stuff. Found a great teacher and he even let me coach after a couple of seasons. I guess I spent about 5-10 seasons doing all of that before I ever built a dot beyond PeeWee. And, as the OP suggested... it STILL took me even more seasons to re-figure out after all the changes... then more changes... then more changes.... At least now I don't get confused when they change stuff. Back then I'd spend a couple of hours reading... cussing... being angry... breaking my keyboard... buying a new one... and recycling my dots to start all over again... and again... and again. Haven't had to do that for a long time now.

PeeWee promotes SAs and attributes. You learn nothing of VAs and %AEQ down there. These two aspects are paramount on why a lot of builds end up not working out in the end (if they manage to grap the other two aspects).

I do like your stance on PeeWee forcing them to retry though. It makes sense and definitely has merit.

I think we have three different discussions going on here.

My previous post has nothing to do with your suggestion. I was relating it to the way things are currently.

The thing is, new users need to learn the basics of cap building before filling their heads with VAs and AE. I do talk about them in my guides but I stress to them to learn about caps, training, and such before worrying about which VAs, AE, or SAs to invest in. Users just showing up at this site have almost 5 years worth of crap to learn. lol

I agree, but I feel like often they get told how to cap build and setup their attributes and then go apeshit with AEQ and VAs and then welp, all that hard work for nothing. Something can be done to improve things... I came in S3, and I don't think I've gotten it completely right once.

EDIT: Keep in mind this was before the higher level D-leagues were added.

I would be willing to coach a team in the the remedial leagues. Honestly it is the only coaching/owning I am qualified for. Is this even what we are talking about? I am so fkin lost.

fair enough. i just assumed by season 7, a lot of people knew what was going on. i just clicked on attributes and hoped my team wouldnt cut me.

by season 3 or 4 most people were already cap building. The problem was the most of us were taking an attribute to the 68 cap instead of 77+. Also that was way before multi training (we had some sort of 2 way training) so we rarely trained an attribute over ~33. But basically the idea of min/maxing and getting your first attributes to a high cap hasn't changed a whole lot in the last 25 or so seasons.

What has changed are how high to take attributes, multi training after the cap, AEQ, shopping, BTs, et c.
