some minor effect in the slow down i guess. But overall you just want to be faster than your opponent when he freezes for that second. Especially this season with catch fake losing a little edge. More speed becomes even more important.

Yep, and with agility giving you the acceleration after the fake and stacking Quick Cut, I'd think the high speed would create separation. I've noticed that DBs aren't losing as much ground after CF in the preseason, the sim change was a good one as it was overpowered last season.

As far as frequency to how much it fires per point in it. This is your best estimates during our testing last season.

Not a ton of great information to take from that. But having it at a lowly 4 is certainly going to diminish the frequency quite a bit as compared to 10.

There are also certainly routes that prove to be a bit better for making Catch Fake fire due to their angles. WR1 Clearout from Trips Formation has a good one at WR3. That has been a widely talked about play but there are others as well. Not hard to pick them out after looking at the route.

Cool. Knew someone would have spent some time on it. Thanks for sharing. Thats really informative. Shame the dots are closed or deleted or super secret. Would be even better.

Good point about speed, to get the separation after it fires? I sometimes put it on an agility dot to make up for lack of speed. Guess I was not thinking that through.

Hmm okay so....about a 33% chance of CF firing at CF 10 if there is no blitz. So if you have CF on five receivers good chance (86%) it is going to go off on at least one of them all things being equal (however the TE showed much lower percents, would a HB show even less? Or was it just build?). Run it on three plays in a row the chance of it firing at least once in the three plays is 97%.

With a blitz on, the percentage drops to 18%. With 5 receivers with 10 Catch Fake the chance of having at least one fire is only 37%, or 75% chance of having it fire once in three plays. Still pretty decent.

But this was in August.

Wonder how it looks now.

Where do you get the catch fake icon? For some reason I have lost the ability to see it on any of my PCs and settings it seems like. I must be doing something dumb but not sure what.

Its not related to GLB.

Or its something so simple that everyone should know it?

WTF is GLB for again? I would like to see the menu about what can go there or not.

The mods either get paid by the thread move/lock or are indeed bored silly most of the time.

Nah I appreciate that.

Seems like its 3% per point roughly if no blitz, for wide outs. Less for TEs or typical TE builds anyway. If its really linear like that, then makes ya wonder if a set of 8 would not be cost effective especially if every WR on the team had it.

So lets say you run a spread and there is no blitz (:skeptical and you run it three times with four WRs with 8 CF each, you get one firing in a first through third down set about 70% of the time. About one series in three would go 30 yards of conversions just on CF alone (assuming CF gets you a first down which it tends to right?).

Hmm nah guess go for the ten.

The only thing I would read into on those numbers from that test are 10 Catch Fake is obviously a lot better than 4. Slot Machine (vision and probably some to do with RR) and Fake % help tremendously in the rate of fire.

And the type of routes help too.

I wouldn't read anything different between TE's and WR's in terms of how CF fires.

Bort has a ton in Catch Fake. it allows him to make changes to the sim while telling Catch he's doing something different
