Bort already stated he made the game for the hardcore gamer, and he is going to try and work towards the casual gamers needs. The problem is making a viable player anytime you want, as I said before you can make a player at any point, and the player will be good, let me make it clear, the player will be good for a season or two, so no one assumes I mean the length of the players career Bort has too come up with a way, that an agent can make a dot at anytime during the season, and still be competitive with dots made earlier in the season, like when you make a dot day 20, you should get the same SP and TP as you would have if you created the dot Day 40-48 the prior season. so that newly created dot is at the exact time the rest of the dots made that season are.

Everyone knows you build for the end game. No one cares if their dot is good in it's 2nd or 3rd season.

This I agree with which is exactly what my #3 idea was. See my original post.

Oh so someone new to this game, is going to automatically know that their player won't be good for another 2 years......... I highly doubt that, I build my very first player before there were CPU teams, I joined, what Day 20 or so, I know it was at the end of season 1, didn't have a team to sign onto until the next season, I pm'd support about it, and was basically told to fuck off. (you guys think supports sucks now, you should have tried to get stuff done during the first few seasons) New players aren't going too know they can't build a good player until Day 40-48, they will build a player whatever day they join, because they are forced into it, then find the forums, learn what to do, or log off and most likely not return.

Not putting words into your mouth. You just look foolish making statements that a competitive player can be made during the season which is not true.

I just noticed you play in Casual which probably explains your lack of knowledge of how to build a competitive player.

Stop trolling, I play casual because I don't want too put alot of effort in the regs, as I did from season 1 to 25. Not getting into the Reg/Casual debate, because clearly the guys that do are butthurt over it. You my friend, have not read what i wrote, and are just looking too start shit, so this is the last time I will recognize anything you post.

I am not trolling, I started this thread. You hijacked it by posting bad information that i needed to correct so people know it is wrong. Giving bad information out is one of the problems that I wanted addressed as well. See my original post again and read idea 1.

If you are saying that it is possible to build a dot mid season I concede that point. You can create a player then, it is just that he is useless and will have to be retired immediately when the agent finds this out.

Maybe another idea would be to not allow dots to be made outside of day 40 through day 48.

This is why in my original post I gave a few ideas on how to better help the new players. Re-read and see if you understand it better then.

What you said was:

You can make a player AT ANYTIME during a season, the best time would be during the 2 week downtime (Day 40 to 48) so the dot can compete at a normal age/level. That isn't the problem.

This is bad information. It is exactly what the problem is. Your statement is wrong.

IMO the best option to attract players of varying skill levels and time commitments levels is to have different levels of toughness, as with most games.

How many levels you break it down into is definitely debatable, but there should be something like:
- Rookie / Newbie Leagues
- Medium / Moderate Leagues
- Master / Hardcore Leagues

That does absolutely nothing to address the fact that for at least a year he's going to be like a salmon swimming upstream - are we forgetting these are age based leagues? That Day 20 dot will be Level at best level 7-8, playing in a Day 40 league against Level 19's, who will be level 25 by day 4 of that season. Every year he's going to be pissing in the wind until he hits plateau.

Age based leagues are essentially putting younger players in a 100 meter dash with Usain Bolt and giving Bolt a 20 meter head start. Unless he breaks his leg (i.e. puts SP's into SA's at level 10) you have 0 chance.

Why did this game switch to age based leagues anyway? I wasn't playing when they made that change.
