I think this is more the source of your anger than some sort of moral high ground tbh.

fwiw(nothing) I am just glad they did not promote my team to WL to take that team's spot.

On the other hand, if an agent has been inactive for 50+ days up through the next preseason (basically inactive for a season then unsigned entering the next), auction the dot (using flex) to the highest bidder. The new owner can continue the build, sign him to a team, etc. The flex paid in the sale goes to the previous owner, should he ever log in again.

If the new owner decides to retire the dot, the flex refunded is calculated from the date he took possession of the dot, i.e. he only gets refunded based on flex he plugged into the dot, not including the flex paid to buy the dot at auction.

The original owner is S.O.L. at getting the dot back. If we go into re-purchase options, it will open a can of worms that Admin doesn't want, including things that have already been banned.

If the "freeze" option is implemented in the future, agents will have no legitimate reason for leaving a dot inactive for a season or longer. Freezing the dot would be in the agent's best interest. Hence, there should be no valid argument against retiring or auctioning off inactive dots at that time.

In the meantime, "part-time" agents only muck up the game, ruin their dots, and are forever in "rebuilding" mode. They aren't good for the game, and I'm sure a good portion of them really don't plan to be a part of GLB in the future.

It is good to see all the admins working so hard to keep things going in world league.
That should guarantee that there will always be 32 teams playing this game.

The problem herein is allowing teams to be sold during the season.

It makes no sense.

Limit the selling of teams to Day 41.

Why do anything else?

I would go for this only for the dots of players who have been perma-banned and then only after any appeal process has run its course.

Anything else is just asking for trouble.

There is something inherently wrong with thinking we can just use players some agent spent their money to create without their permission - regardless of the agents status.

I'm willing to bet the servers are filled with plenty of inactive agents and dots. Quite honestly, something should be done about that. However, Fed regulations prevent inactive agents from being removed from permanent records. That also means their dots cannot be removed, nor can their forum posts. They can only be hidden from view, but must remain part of the permanent record so as to be accessible in the event a user should be investigated for crime perpetrated via internet. I learned about that from Admin at a site I used to frequent. A lot of scam and spam there.

As far as inactive dots, Yello is the one who brought the subject up. Inactive dots should stay inactive until reactivated by the agent. I'm still in favor of the freeze option which is in Epic suggestions. I bet there would be a lot fewer inactive dots once that gets implemented. So, I had to throw the auction idea out there on a lark to see how Yello would react to it. Truth is, an auction would a) be a hornet's nest, and b) too complicated to implement fairly.

As far a dots of perma-ban.....NGTH for reasons stated in first paragraph.

I hereby give my full permission to do whatever you* wish with my dots once I have been inactive for 90+ days.

This makes sense, it's just sad that something like this has to be hashed out 4 pages later and isn't even considered in the original suggestion. It seems people just post "I want" suggestions without ever even thinking about the ramifications of their suggestions first. From a theoretical position this allows teams to field complete teams without ever spending a dime to build them - not to crazy about that idea myself.

There are no ramifications, other than in the rather dubiously imaginative minds of some people who are over valuing the valueless.

Imagine the horror when I come back 91 days from now and find all my dots on Offtopiica teams

wat?

At no time was I trying to insinuate that I was waging some kind of war against immorality. Pretty sure I made it clear in my previous posts that GLB taking the easy road (yet again) instead of fixing something properly is what pisses me off.
