What was ignorant about his post. It makes complete sense. If a QB sees a WR open 20 yards down the field why in hell would he throw it as hard as he could or if a WR was wide open in the middle 5 yards in front of the QB then why would he throw a rainbow to him? It should be dynamic.

+1!!

Pre-selecting how passes will be thrown is silly.

The thing you are thinking about is the targeting logic. What you ask for is the QB to target the deep routes farther away from the receivers and the out route more exactly.
In the current sim, the idea of giving defenders extra time to use ball hawk and close on the receivers is lol. Considering that lofty passes don't really help to avoid interception when a defender jump the route, the need of passes going more lofty then needed is just bad.

The lofty/bullet setting does only one thing: It defines a minimal angle so the QB cannot throw passes too flat.
Is serve two purposes:
1) make sure there is always enough angle to throw about the DL.
2) make sure the short passes don't come out too strong on short routes, when passing in low level leagues (with low catching dots)

15yds+ passes are not effected by the pass style setting (at least when it is in the bullet side). Since the QB need to use an angle that is higher the the minimal set by the slider (he need higher angle to make the distance).

If your suggestion goes as is, some DL will PD ~25% of the short passes (at the high level leagues) . That will be pretty horrible.

It make sense to have a dynamical thing, but from an entire different reason. And considering the bad way the sim make decisions I am cool leaving this one to the users.

Not talking about targeting logic at all. How a QB throws a pass is situational. If you set lofty (Which few do) Pass speed is reduced and the pass trajectory is changed. Setting that for every pass is foolish.

There would still need to be a roll, QB and DL.

You need to spend more time reading what I wrote. You are confusing football with dotball.

I am quite proficient at reading. That said "This is dotball" is not a sufficient answer for game mechanics that are illogical. How the QB throws the ball should be a set of checks.

The problem is that you think lofty/bullet mean something that it doesn't.

The reason you want a QB to 'hang' the ball in dotball is not the same as in football. This is just a fact you need to learn and live with. For things to work more like football you need a complete redo of WR/CB interactions and not just adjusting how the ball is thrown. And that will not happen.

You dont seem to understand the post then. I know what it does sir. The issue is simple. When a QB selects how a pass will be thrown he doesnt do it in the morning of game over a bowl of Wheaties.
