Nonsense.
Like I said earlier, Amazon and Ticketmaster will accept payment and account setups with credit card only, not requiring a bank account.
PayPal will allow you to set up an account (or at least used to) with a credit card only. (I'd been using Ebay for iirc >10 years). After a while, (this was not an original condition of setting up my PayPal account) they started asking to get my account verified, i.e., give them my bank account #,otherwise when I reach my "limit" $5000, they will essentially demand verification (bank account #) or they will disable my PayPal account until I provide them my bank account number.
Not only wrt Amazon and Ticketmaster, I have never made a credit card purchase and been required to provide a bank account #. Car repairs, dentist bill, college tuition...get the picture?
If that's PayPal's business model, and they are happy with it, I'm happy for them. This is America and I believe in the free market. However, I won't do business with PayPal, unless they drop their bank account # requirement. Am I proselytizing? A little. However, right now I'm pretty pissed that I won't be able to boost a player, and the only way I'll be able to get flex points in the future is via retirement, and Bort's gifts.
I'm sure the vast majority of players here disagree with me. I'm fine with that too. However, I still can't rationalize giving a bank account # to make a credit card purchase. I can't think of any service provider, other than PayPal, that requires this. I can see it on some $100,000 purchase on Ebay. But for $25 worth of flex points? Laughable.
