plain and simple Sting was signed up on a waiting list since USAPL couldnt match our teams, Nowhere did KOB sign up they were too good to join and now they want in to save USAPL and pick on a weaker EEPL team

so WiSeIVIaN you are blaming me cause I got ALL my top EEPL teams to sign up and you guys were too lazy or too good to have all your top USAPL teams sign up for this. What a crock of shit. EEPL has league pride not my fault USAPL thinks they are still the top Pro League.

you want to sub in KOB which from estimating would be about your #9 seed into a #20 seed game.

we shoulda taken the forfeit it woulda hurt us less. It woulda only been a 1-0 loss. But since we had teams on the waiting list i got approval from both teams since we dont forfeit in EEPL. And NO League has ever put up more teams than us in League Challenges.

Not blaming you. Just saying its a bit retarded if you brag that you won, when you only won because your 17th-20th best teams are better than our 28-31st best teams.

Tbph I don't care about this challenge in particular, and losing is fine (I won my game fwiw). Rather I'm just pointing out that EEPL winning this does not point to it being a better league in any category except participation and perhaps not knowing how to properly rank teams.

I think the point here was to congratulate you on your eventual win. You won (or will have) based on the rules that were initially agreed upon. We simply disagree that this current format means that EEPL is in any way superior to USAPL this season, since we sure as hell didn't feel the need to not include some of the weaker teams in our league and instead recruit the best twenty teams for this challenge. These things used to be fun and entertaining to be a part of, everybody roles out their base AI and we all get to watch some more replays of our dots and get some half-assed trash talk going. Some of the lower-leveled teams that are a season or two away from competing at this level get to play competitive games against other teams in similar situations. That clearly is not how you went about this, which is fine. Based on your forum this thing really means a lot more to you guys then us, so honestly congratulations.

However, I personally do feel pretty damn disrespected considering the shadiness of your rankings (and I'm assuming E does as well). Ranking our teams proved to be a complete fucking waste of my time. I didn't think I needed to check in on you to make sure you were ranking your teams top to bottom and not in some schematic way to weight the matchups in your favor like you did (as multiple others on this forum have pointed out). You had a shady rep coming into this thing which I chose to ignore, and that's shame on me. You win, we lose, and that is that.

FWIW, I remember the last time this crock was played out and I see EEPL spouting every time after pulling the same garbage with every league. That's why I didn't sign up, but when you put a 1st place team in your league as a 9th seed, I cared, which was stupid on my part. A faux pas by me for sure.


It is obviously more important to you guys than anyone else in the GLB world so here you go;

I just think it's crappy to not play in the spirit of a "friendly". Too many cares to try to win a meaningless "challenge". Just don't see the harm in letting our sub play when we let your sub play. Strength of teams is irrelevant. Doesn't matter if he signed up originally, he's willing to help out the league now so that this thing is settled on the field and not through a forfeit. Didn't think it would be a big deal. Guess I was wrong.

Not about which league is top because this goes nowhere toward proving that one way or another. Didn't think this was about that. Just a fun challenge for shits and giggles. Apparently this is srs biznss.

Whatever. I'm done. Your challenge, do whatever you want.

Ok look I get real pissed when leagues say hey this team of ours shoulda been in but isn't and then want in when an opportunity arises. I go to great efforts to get the most teams involved from both teams as possible before the challenge starts. Now I oppenly admitted I underestimated Gridiron and publically apologized in the EEPL forum and probably shoulda done so here as well. Now when I mess up I always come forth and yes I messed up with Gridiron

Yes we do take these Challenges seriously and it bothers me when other leagues top teams don't sign up then when league complain when they lose and then say this doesn't measure how good each league really is. I want the best competition period but strategy is also involved like I said above I ranked Gridiron low and admit I underestimated them so our rankings were a bit skewed but again my rankings were publically posted before I got USAPLs rankings.

These challenges are meant to be fun with mild trash talking and I admit I lost my cool but I put a lot of effort into these and when people bash me or my league I blow up and I did this time and I'm sorry I got out of hand

At the end of Day 5 of League Challenge play EEPL has wrapped it up taking a commanding 11-8 lead over USAPL with only 1 game remaining.

It's amazing that this is the second time you guys brought this challenge and both times there was less than stellar handling of the whole thing.

We should have known better; but for all leagues, including ours, when dealing with EEPL "Caveat emptor"
