yes I can remember it well... it was in the early 1980's... Whittier Elementary in Findlay, Ohio... MD was a pretty scrappy 4-square player.
seemed there was this short girl... Kimberly... who always started out in the A square (or whatever it was the top spot)... she'd always make up all these lame rules like "no baby bouncies... no super smashes"... and being short we weren't allowed to "smash" the ball over her head. If you did, she'd storm off pissed as hell. lol it was so fun getting her out of the game. If she was in A square, she'd run off and tell the teacher she made rules against it... otherwise she'd storm to the back of the line.
there would usually be a click of 3 players together... A would serve to B... B would setup C... and C would smash it on you in D square. The trick was to stay alive and move to C square... and usually your buddy would then start in D square. If you were good... you and your buddies unseat whomever had A square and your buddies would then kill off the D square over and over. Nothing like a good smash ball to kill that D square dude!!!
