A few things though...It's OK to start a new thread....Kind of easier to follow the week by week progresion

I used to do it that way but people would respond to the old threads, etc. Plus, it's just quicker for me this way. For some reason the text box doesn't expand for me when I start a new thread so it's harder to move teams around. Since I do this at work I try to do it the quickest way possible. Hope you continue to enjoy them and I will strive to come up with even wittier comments than the ones you pointed out as the season goes on.

On to the rankings! Thank you Vancouver. That's all I have to say about this week.

WEEK 2 RANKINGS (R = USPL rookies this season, WL = i'm sure you can figure it out)
WESTERN
1 Monmouth Evil Monkeys (2-0)
Solid shutout win for the Monkeys that saw them score on the ground, through the air and on defense in the 1st Q alone.

2 South Georgia Growl (2-0WL)
Over 1300 yards of offense in their last game. Close call.

3 Tulsa Storm (2-0)
The 1st quarter was a struggle for both teams offenses but Tulsa got things rolling heading into the 2nd Q and never looked back as they went on to put up 54 points while only giving up 1 TD in the 4th Q. The D did a great job against the pass and the offense got things going behind a solid passing attack and some strong running by McNuggetts. Now they just need to shore up that pass protection.

4 Covington Black Knights (1-1)
Covington overcame their struggles in the passing game behind some solid running. They went into the 4th down by 1 before putting up the next 10 points to take a 9 pt lead. After a Spoilers FG made it a 6 pt game, Covingtons defense rose to the occasion and forced back to back 3 and outs but a failed 4th down attempt by the Knights gave Sin City another shot at playing the spoiler. On 4th down the Spoilers decided to go for a 50 yd FG with 1:12 left in regulation instead of going for the TD. The FG was missed but even if it had gone through it would have been game over for Sin City anyway.

5 American Terrorists (1-1)
Shocking loss to the Lions especially in the wake of a 228 yard performance out of Curtis Martin. Suspect passing (39.3% completion) did not help this team at all. The defense did a solid job holding the Lions to 5 FGs and 1 TD but a pick 6 in the 3rd came back to bite this squad in the end.

6 Bay Area Bombers (1-1)
A shutout loss to the Monkeys behind an offense that was more dud than explosive this week. Next week is not looking good for this team.

7 Newfoundland Penguins (2-0)
Another win for the Penguins as they went up 10-0 at the half. The Gryphons put up some fight in the 3rd Q though and made it a 7 point game heading into the 4th. Newfoundland iced this one though by outscoring the Gryphons 10-7 in the 4th to come away with a 10 point win.

8 Canton Bulldogs (2-0)
Canton in another tight one as they were down by 1 heading into the half. They struck first in the 3rd to take a 6 point lead but then gave up 10 to the Jokers and were down by 4 heading into the 4th. They took the lead again early in the 4th with a TD making it a 20-17 game but the Jokers answered right back on the ensuing kickoff with a TD return to take the lead back . A Canton FG brought them within 1 and then both teams stayed off the scoreboard until Canton got the last laugh by scoring 11 points in the final minute of the game.

9 5th Masterminds (1-1R)
The Masterminds looked like geniuses out there today as they carved through the Predators defense and shut them out on offense by forcing 6 turnovers.

10 Vancouver Lions (2-0R)
The Lions were down 9-17 heading into the second half but they pounced all over AT in the early 3rd Q scoring a TD and then getting a pick 6 a mere 3 seconds later. Those were their lone TDs of the game as the offense stalled out in the redzone 5 times through the game for FGs but it proved to be more than enough as they squeaked out a 2 point victory.

11 North Texas Timberwolves (1-1R)
After one quarter it looked like the 'Wolves and Tulsa would be in a defensive slugfest but the defense came undone the following 3 quarters and this team went home like a pack of wounded dogs.

12 American Predators (0-2)
Two games into the season and the Preds offense has failed to gain much steam yet. Can they turn it around next week?

13 Stormwind City Gryphons (0-2R)
There's nothing majestic about these Gryphons right now as they open the season with 2 losses and are about to head into a really tough stretch of games.

14 Sin City Spoilers (0-2R)
Better job this time around but the decision to kick a FG with just over a minute left in the game when you're down by 6 will haunt this team more than their week 1 loss.

15 Arkham Asylum Jokers (0-2)
The Jokers failed to maintain the lead every time they took it and lost the game in the final minute when they gave up a TD, 2 pt conversion and FG.

16 Wisconsin Rapids Red Raiders (0-2R)
2 WL teams in back to back weeks. I'm not saying this team is going anywhere this season but man do the scheduling gods seem to not like them much.

EASTERN
1 Black Ops 7 (2-0)
Put the Assassins to bed early with a commanding 47-7 score at halftime. Huge match-up against the Mice next week that could shake up the standings.

2 All The King's Men (2-0WL)
Coasted to an easy win as they held Philly scoreless until the 4th. The O essentially did what it wanted for 4 quarters and let the defense work it's magic.

3 South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice (2-0)
Another week another shutout. The Mice put up some big numbers on the ground led by McFaulks 13 rushes for 233 yds and 4 TDs. On defense you couldn't ask for anything more from this squad. A few turnovers, the shutout, a wall against the run game. Just another solid game.

4 College Station Aggies (2-0)
While unspectacular, the Aggies come away with another solid win. Is it possible that I'm not giving Denver it's due credit or are the Aggies just playing conservative through what appears to be a very easy stretch of games.

5 Atlantic City Affliction (0-2)
2 games into the season and AC has managed to put up an anemic 3 points. The next 4 weeks will ease up a bit though and I suspect they'll be over .500 by the time they face the Aggies. I still think this team deserves a high ranking but if they falter at all the next few weeks expect their slide to begin.

6 Wala Wala Drunken Shriners (2-0)
Had to fight through a tough game against the Groundhogs but the defense managed to force a few turnovers and shut down the passing game of the Groundhogs. They could be heading into week 4 at 3-0 which could be a match-up of undefeateds.

7 Las Vegas Gold Diggers (2-0R)
LV manages to outlast the Hounds this week. After heading into halftime up 31-6 the Diggers only managed to put up another 3 points in the second half while the Hounds rallied back with a 25 point 2nd half. The comeback fell short though and the Diggers pick up a nice win.

8 Nashville Hounds (0-2)
The Hounds struggled to get a run game going and saw themselves down 6-31 heading into the half. It was a huge deficit but somehow Nashville got their shit together and mounted the comeback attempt with a 13 pt 3rd that closed the gap to 19-31. They failed to keep LV off the scoreboard though as the Diggers hit a FG 5 minutes into the 4th Q but a 96 yd TD return on the following kickoff still gave them hope as the score was now 26-34. A few minutes later the defense came up huge with a safety but the Hounds had to settle for a FG on the next possession. That brought them within 3 which would end up being the final score when the Hounds went 3 & out and punted the ball on 4th & 6 instead of going for a 1st down.

9 Punxsutawney Groundhogs (1-1)
Tough loss for PG with both defenses playing pretty well. The passing game was grounded by WWs defense but the run game put up some solid numbers. Ultimately this game was lost when the Groundhogs lost the ball on their own 36 with a minute to play leading to WWs game winning FG.

10 Oakland Suppressors (1-1)
After a slow start in the 1st Q Oakland got things moving and went on to outscore Chicago 65-9 for the rest of the game. The run game wasn't stellar but it was sufficient and QB Graham's 4 TDs was more than enough to get the win.

11 The Outlaw Assassins (0-2)
Were blown out early and had little chance of reversing their fortunes as the OL fell victim to Black Ops and gave up 15 sacks for a staggering -78 yds.

12 Denver Giant 9'ers (0-2R)
Denver's week 1 loss to the Lions isn't looking so bad after Vancouver took down the Terrorists and the 9'ers performed well enough to stay within 7 at the half. The second half was all Aggies though and Denver falls for the second week. Things should be easier for a few weeks now at least.

13 Gulf Coast Crocs (1-1R)
Devoured the Eagles this week but will that game be remembered as the high point of their season.

14 Philadelphia SEXY Demonik (0-2R)
Unfortunately for Philly, the only thing sexy on that field today was the King's Men running back committee.

15 Chicago Bears 85 (0-2R)
With the ugly loss at Oakland I think this squad is looking more like the real life Oakland team and less like Da Bears of 85.

16 Minnesota Eagles (0-2)
Failed on every aspect of the game with an offense that could do nothing and a defense that got shredded for over 750 yards. The way things are going now this squad may have to wait until the second half of the season to get it's first win.
