One of these is not like the others, which one and how:
1. everything in the Sim should be NFL-like,
2. every function in the game that is related to it should be Excel-like
3. every function in forums should be like every other forum
The last one is the only one that is a relevant comparison with any degree whatsoever, and yello hasn't attacked that one recently... I am not going back and checking his posting history.
Oh damn I just placed 3 points in strength instead of vitality in diablo. I suppose I should hit undo... oh wait I already hit save. Damn. Perhaps the save button is your are you sure button? Huh.. how about that.

Assuming there isnt some roll happening etc, it just makes sense to make every function as user friendly as possible.
Oops just saw the genres you mentioned.
No FPS and RTS being real time would have issues with an Undo feature. You cant Unshoot the dude, etc.
But where it would not be a problem, yes.
ANY Program should have an undo wherever possible.
And definitely in GLB which has zero "real time" in it at all.

I agree with you there, but for things like SP assigning (which has no confirm screen), I could see it.
that or put a confirm screen on SP assigning, "Are you sure you want to spend 4 SPs and increase SPEED by 1" type thing.
