Most of the gold league has had excellent results with screens and counters because of buggy DB responses (over pursuit, standing there a half a dot away and not tackling, etc). I'm not singling you out (or anybody else), I'm just stating a fact that defensive dots are known to do some screwy stuff right now, and the screens and counters are some of the best plays for beating those screwy DBs. It was an example of anybody benefiting from potential bugs in the sim.
A lot of other plays are also benefiting...but my reason for using those was just to play on the fact that so many people have been raging in the forums lately about screens and counters.
Of course, the problem isn't the offensive play...it's the buggy DB behavior. Fix that and I'd be a happy man. Every time i've seen something along this lines mentioned to support or in one of the forums, the admins tell us the sim is working as intended. I even posted something about in the last Q and A and Bort responded saying he'd need to see some plays, but it's prolly just vision, agility, or tackling.
The point was just to build on what stepsides said with a bit of a joke: we're all more likely to get pissed about something that negatively affects us than we are something that helps us.
It is possible to eliminate most of those problems with the screen plays defensively I think.
These are low level DoTs so they are going to lack play recognition - all you can do is give them the best chance to make a stop with a combo of player build, DoT placement etc.
PWU hit me with quite a few screen plays and we shut them down for the most part or at least enough times to convince Auto-tune to stop calling them

It goes without saying that you can't stop those plays where the DB just runs off the field for no reason - although i've heard alot less about this in recent days - maybe the issue fades when the DoT gets a little older.....
Maybe DC's just moan more, or louder, or whatever but I like the screen plays and counters - teams have shut down the outside running game with DB placement (either by blitzing or zone) so you were left with low% passes or bashing it up the middle against DT's that make mincemeat of most O-lines.
