The people who are slobbering over her knob just aren't willing to accept that fact that blocking has more to do with her success than her build does, even when proof is given in the form of replays showing her not even having to beat one dot on the way to the end zone.

I can't see the builds obviously...but from the looks of Eden's ST's blockers, they arejust regular old offensive dudes. Maybe he build his offensive line guys to be good ST's guys, but I kinda doubt it...none of those guys that I saw (I didn't look at them all) were dedicated ST blockers.

I don't know either, but I can see from the replays that they certainly do a much better job of blocking on STs than most ST blocking units do. It could simply be that he likes having higher vision/speed OL with the Special Teamer VA, so that they do a better job of ST blocking.

No OL dot has a place on the field without at least 68 speed in an offensive capacity - Pro league up, anyhow.

The key to KRs is that your blocking team have precisely the right mix of speed and strength for their blocking position. For 6 of the blockers, the right amount of speed is a function of the speed of the returner, and for 2 others it's a 50-50 split between that and the speed of the oncoming coverage dot.

Thus if you don't have 13 dedicated special teamers, the key is not having elite speed on your returner. I don't mean that in the usual "the points are better spent elsewhere" - I mean that in "with all else equal, 150 speed performs worse than 140 speed".

I don't know how to say this without being disrespectful, so just take it as a comment and not a dig! But if you spent as much time on the other 2 aspects of the game as you have on ST's, there is no way you are still in EEPro. You have had a good team for the past few seasons that I can remember...and your reasoning is sound on how you have setup your ST's. But the fact remains that no team has made it out of EEPro, that I can remember, with a dominant ST's unit. I think you just have to give up too much in the other areas to have an elite ST's. Granted, thee is always a first, but Eden's time is nearing the end and unless you win the gold this season...Maybe if you restart your team in the future and work back up, you might think about just making half the ST's unit elite, so you can have the other half tearing up the O/D!!!

Anyway, like I said, you are obviously intelligent in the game, just hate to see someone this dedicated not winning it all.

Pretty much my point. Good job on figuring all that out and congrats on having what is likely the best return team GLB has seen.

I'm not as dedicated as you probably think.

I freely confess to being lazy as hell. If O/D took only five times as much time as ST it'd be a different story. However, it takes 25+ times as much. I might spend 2 hours on ST a season - not counting building the players, of course - I've lost playoff games spending twice that on O/D for that one game. Not to mention that special teams sim code changes every couple of seasons, while O/D code will change 5-8 times each season.

As for not making to WL, that's mostly down to EEPL having better competition than other Pro Leagues.

Well, that and Bort taking so long to implement decent KR blocking! http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1430636&pbp_id=13338313

This thread is great. I feel that Arkadak and Eden have a lot of history in the reg season and in the playoffs. We have history with Vanity and her ST unit as she does with ours.
