It's a "league challenge", not a "playoff teams only challenge". It's not like the CPU squads are going to sign up. The strength of a league comes from its depth, not how strong its #1 team is. How fair is it to exclude the new guys who might be ranked 17 or 18 ... especially since a lot of teams will get off to a slow start from chemistry? If they don't want to play by the rules that have always been used in these challenges, I'm sure another pro league will.
