It all depends on how GLB look at it.

A long term player buys the CEQ and has it the entire career and only pays 180 flex after selling it back.

A one and done Pee Wee player will pay 100 flex every season and get none back.

10 seasons of CEQ makes Bort 180 flex

OR

10 Seasons of rentable CEQ for level 1 players makes Bort 1000 flex.

Since he put it that way ^^

I don't see how this isn't a win-win.

Sounds good on short terms.

I have mainly been a Pee Wee Agent.. I do have 9 long term players now.. but on my flex history I have used 135,500 flex on boosting and 122,000 on custom gear since Season 11. This would help the balance a little and would revive a Pee Wee community that is slowly dieing because of the high costs at the elite Pee Wee level.

This Post from Pee Wee Gold web site shows how much $$ custom EQ costs for 1 and done players.. I don't think Bort intended Custom EQ to be equal when it comes to agent cost.

I tried being the lone detractor of the suggestion, and in writing out my explanation as to why it was not a good idea, and very exploitable, I realized that it is still a good idea.

Short version: Even if someone tried to "exploit" the rental by getting it in only their 2 WL seasons (the only time non-PW players care about) then they STILL end up paying more flex in the end. The only exploit for this is to get CE for just one year in WL, but that wouldn't fly... so after spending about 8 minutes trying to write a well thought-out explanation as to why this is a BAD idea... I must say that I changed my own mind.

I don't have a problem with the OP. I don't really have a horse in the race but I see the point of such a player paying a bit extra for their CE but they should not have to pay full price. It is like paying the same amount for a Dbl Cheeseburger as you do for a single hamburger no cheese. Just doesn't pass a reason test. As stated though it is not unreasonable for the player to pay a bit extra overall.
