Easy IMO

Makes perfect sense... totally logical.

And yet no response from hays...

Shocking...

i don't have time to come in here and cater to all your bitching. the tournament's organizers will continue to strive to put the best tournament out there that we can. if you don't like the rules, don't play.

But it does make complete sense. It's awesome to have to play teams like Blaze 3x a season.... no wait, it isn't.

if you don't play in tournaments you'll only have to play them 2x at most.

Back in the pre-WL days it was a lot easier to have a top tournament like the PWT without too much double-scheduling during the rounds. Also, there were several people who put in a metric crap-ton of work (turnit especially comes to mind) in order to get pods made and brackets made in such a way to avoid the intra-conference matchups that are complained about here. Even in those days you had issues with USAPro teams playing each other 3-4 times a season - I seem to recall USA East being brutal in that regard back in the S7-S10 days.

In the post-WL world it's nearly impossible to do, and there isn't anyone willing to put THAT much effort into it. It's all easy to say "oh move this team here and it's better" but to get a full bracket out that no one complains about is impossible.

Having the formulas set in stone ahead of time - rated by EL for pods, rated by point differential for bracket seeding - is at least bias-free, simple, and doesn't slow down the tournament by waiting for people to have time to work on it.

Yeah, I guess we should work on simple things like flex point rewards first. Baby steps.
