They weren't worse than other fans. Giants fans are fucking stupid. Like literally, that's a low IQ fanbase right there.

coming from a redskins fan...the same team that spent 100 million on a DT...the same fan base that every season thinks the skins have a chance, only to stop watching by week 13 because they cant even beat the Lions...yeah going to go ahead and disregard your post there buddy

the teams decisions are clearly a reflection of the fans. Brilliant analysis.

He should play in Miami. Why?

1.) Four words: NO STATE INCOME TAX - for someone making the cash Lebron will be making, that is huge. It was one big draw for Shaq many years ago and as someone who lives in Florida, I can tell you that getting that extra 3-9% in your pocket and not having to give it to the government is pretty sweet. I can only imagine if I were a millionaire how much sweeter it would be. Consider (35% is what he will pay in Federal income taxes):

43.97% in New York means that of his $17,310,000 contract he will only pocket $9,698,793
38.00% in Chicago means that of his $17,310,000 contract he will only pocket $10,732,200 (~$1 mil more per year than in New York)
35.00% in Miami means that of his $17,310,000 contract he will only pocket $11,251,500 (~$1.7 mil more per year than in New York, ~$0.5 mil more per year than in Chicago)

2.) The Heat can sign three max guys if they want to.

3.) The Heat have a defensive-minded HoF coach (potentially) in Pat Riley. The Bulls have an unproven coach in Thibadeau, the Knicks have Mike D'Antoni, who has yet to realize that defense is actually necessary to win in the playoffs.

4.) Tradition is overrated. He can make his own tradition, and who are we really comparing the Heat to? The Bulls? There vaunted tradition is all of 20 years old and the result of one player. The Knicks have 2 championships in 64 years of existence. The Heat have 1 championship in 23 years of existence. I am not sure what the Knicks keep going on about. They have been really bad for a long time. The Bulls were good during the Jordan years, but really bad before, and really bad after.

We made the Finals the year after Jordan retired. What the hell are you talking about?

The Magic made the finals last year. they must have a great tradition. No one cares about the team that makes the finals if they don't win it.

i don't remember where I read it, but the tax difference in Miami for a max player is around $500k only. You pay taxes for road games in the respective states.

Also, the heat CANNOT sign 3 max players.

The Heat coach is not Riley.

I was disputing the statement that "the Knicks have been really bad for a long time." The 90s Knicks would have had a handful of titles if not for 1) peaking at the same time as the greatest player to ever play and 2) Starks having one of the worst games in history in our Game 7 against Houston after coming thisclose to winning Game 6 (and the title)

The Knicks automatically have a tradition being one of the original BAA teams (and, besides the Celtics, the only one to never relocate) and playing in New York, in the Garden. We've had plenty of Hall of Famers play for us, many of whom won titles. Anyways, being part of the greatest teams in Knick history (and the 69-70 and 72-73 Knicks were absolutely amazing) and winning multiple titles in New York would make LeBron possibly the most iconic athlete in New York history. At the very least, he'd be in the same hollowed ground as Ruth, Mantle, maybe Jeter when he retires.

Using tpat's argument, I have determined that the best destination for LeBron is in fact Olympiakos.

Anyone can claim residency in Florida and receive that benefit. Most Sport figures own a residency in Florida just for that one reason. Playing for a team there doesnt matter when you can live there anyways and receive that same tax benefit.
