I remember reading an article on the NFL about 15 years ago. It gave a statistic on each team, the number of yards that team gave up per point. It's not a measure of defense or offense, just how much you make the other team work for points. Dallas was in their prime at the time with a great defense and special teams. Aikmen didn't through a lot of picks. They lead the league in the category.
Anyway, I'd like to see that statistic for this league. NPN doesn't give up a lot of yards. We finished 1st in rushing defense and 5th in passing defense. Even if you normalize things to get rid of the fact that we played a CPU team in weak 1, I think we still end up with the top rushing defense in the league. Yet we give up some damn easy points. At one point this season, we had give up more points off of pick sixes and fumble returns than we had on defense.
