As long as the 2 party system is in control (not to mention lobbyists having rediculous amounts of sway with both sides) things will remain the same..... each president trying to un-do the so-called F' ups of the previous liberal/conservative, and introduce his own brand of F' ups.
FWIW, the WL has ALWAYS been about politics..... or at least agendas.
Edit: edit for many, if not most voters who consider themselves liberal or conservative will always vote their party line, regardless of how incompetent their representative is.
