Thinking that your team can win every game is not the same as thinking that your team will win every game. Are you giving your predictions for the results or your hope for the results? It seems like you are mostly purporting to do the former but with your team are doing the latter.

It's conceivable that you think your team will win any given game. It is believable that you think your team CAN win every single game. It is slightly less believable that you think your team WILL win every single game. I don't think it is douchey to pick against your team if you are trying to make accurate predictions based on likely results. Sometimes you just know the other team is better and will probably win. You can still think you can win and hope you do win. On the other hand to blindly pick your team every week . . . isn't really douchey . . . but I'd rate it more douchey than picking against your team.

Douchey was a poor choice of words, I think the point that he was trying to convey was that he wants to show his team and his coordinators that he has confidence in their ability to win every game so he picks MEM to win every week. He just conveyed it poorly.
