One thing you may want to add to the OP is a note for scrimmages to be Ranked, use playoff OT rules, and no Home Team. That is the fairest way and avoids the possibility of a tie. Our game is setup like that.

Just for clarification, the team that initiates the scrimmage will always be the home team from the perspective of the schedule view, but it only matters if it has Home team abilities enabled.
