Probably so... I just clicked.
I think I know what happened...Boomer, their GM, had took 4 of his players off the team, which seemed to start a chain reaction of players wanting to leave. So, why not just jump while the ship is sinking instead of rebuilding, and go somewhere to dominate. Then say real life is holding you back even though you still spend as much time on the game, and that's the reason for gutting the team.
Well guys, we are not going to be dominate anymore in SEA AA (AAA#2 now) since we are losing lots of core players, let's go to BBB to this team I GM and pwn lowbie faces.
While I agree with the underlying idea, and totally understand why you're upset - hell, I'm upset, I don't think the venom is necessary. We don't know these guys in real life, so who are we to judge?
Throwing accusations doesn't do anyone any good. Doubting their word doesn't help relations or do anyone any good.
In no way does it hurt me to believe that the guy has a sick kid, and at the very worst, I'm out some best wishes. It didn't cost me anything, and there's way too many very sick kids in the world. Its entirely plausible. So when giving him the benefit of the doubt doesn't hurt me or cost me anything, while casting stones ruins any chance of civility and maybe finding a solution, or getting them to maybe see if a possible solution can be found, I know I'm going to choose the practical solution, and I urge anyone reading this to join me.
Seriously, I think you guys should at least look into the possibility of moving up a notch or two. There's a ton of teams who'd like to move down, and a bunch of them have legitimate reasons. Why not at least see if you can give someone else a chance to compete and rebuild, and find somewhere that will pose a challenge without ruining any kind of competitive balance here?
At worst, admins can say no, and we're stuck with it, but some honest effort would certainly at least make me a little less ticked off, but then, granted, I'm not in the West. But it'd show some good faith.
I do understand team loyalty and friends wanting to stick together - but seriously, is making the next 40+ days an exercise in people crossing their fingers and hoping for chemistry to work once or twice really worth it?
I predict a lot more threads like this as the season goes. I've already asked my people on the Hustlers for some restraint and to not take things to a personal level, and I hope others will do the same.
Meanwhile, I hope someone with some authority in Albequerque will find the time and effort to make an effort to try and get that team up a level or two where you can all stick together, have your fun, and actually compete, since you found the time and effort to put the team together and get all those people signed in an affordable manner for a BBB team.
