Well dontmeswidme, you own some of the best dlinemen on GLB, how do you rank the attributes? Not asking for any specific build numbers or anything, just some general guidance.

that's the fun part of the game. finding it out.

some of you guys are WAY off though.

you are right. With most of these guys you could show them a pic of the Grand Cannon and a pic of there backside and they would not know the difference.

The #1 stat for all linemen is strenght. figure out the rest on your own.

Well, I agree that finding out for myself would be fun, but you'll have to agree that getting 30+ sacks a season is fun too, at least I imagine it would be. When I weigh one against the other I can only come to the conclusion that the sacks sound more fun. So...no advice at all?

nope. sorry
good luck though.

so confidence is worthless? my lvl 7 is training confidence, it's at 13.7 now. if it's worthless I'll train something else.

It is the most underrated skill in all of GLB. Do not listen to some of these guys. You need Confidence....unless you are playing against people 3 lvls below you on a consistent basis.

Unless he wants you all to be backup O-linemen it sounds like a waste of time. It makes no noticeable difference, and those are SP's you could be throwing into Strength/Agility.

Agility at 5? that is the definition of understatement

2. is more like it

Yeah I guess, they're all pretty interchangeable, depend on what kind of payer you're trying to build.

I disagree, I think Strength/Agility are the most important.

You can change up a few things if you want to make a Run Stopper VS a Pass Rusher, but if you have too little strength or agility in sacrifice for speed or some other skill, you will never get past high level OT's no matter what type of build you are going for.

Best advice in this thread.

I agree as well. But to expand would you say agility>strength but keep them pretty close together?

My thoughts:

Strength and agility to get past a blocker... pump whichever you think will create a missmatch on the LOS. Considering most OLinemen go strength then favouring agility may have its benefits

Speed: To get to the QB or catch the HB. On passing players how much speed you need will also depend on how well your DB are covering the receivers.

Confidence/Vision: They're not just random additions to spend SP on but serve their own unique benefit. Exactly what that is, is another matter entirely
Currently the idea seems to be that vision affects almost everything a player does. As a result it has value for any player.
Confidence lets your player get over fudging things up. It balances out poor morale becaus of your past results, poor morale because of your current match and it lets you get up and keep keeping on regardless of how many times you are pancaked or beaten. I'm suspicious that a high confidence will actually increase your other abilities on the playing field although thats just a vague notion of mine.

Tackling: Probably the least important skill... if you play wrap up. If you constantly go for fumlbes then you'll need a high tackling to compensate.

Jumping: Not really included by anyone here and certainly not a key skill but it has a few benefits for a DE. In particular it helps with diving tackles which could be more important for catching a HB than speed in some circumstances

Blocking: I can't see much point in training it when there is so much else to work on... if your team makes a lot of fumble recovery's on D then it could certainly help your yardage there... the same argument suggests that carrying might also be useful, which is just daft.

Stamina: A bit if a la de da skill... you need enough to ensure you have enough energy for the plays you are receiving and at the end of the match. Any more is a waste of skill points (until you level up a few more times and find you need that much more stamina)

Seriously though... if the #1 stat for ALL lineman was strength you'd just see a bunch of big dumb b*stards slamming into each other all the time... oh... wait... you may be right.

that's how i would rank the stats

1.Speed
2.Strength,Agility,Vision are all EQUAL.
3.Stamina, tackling EQUAL
4.Confidence
