kinda funny how that works out....seems like speed should help vertical and agility would be the key to crossing routes

LB
Major: Strength, Vision, Tackling, Agility, Confidence, Stamina
Minor: Speed, Jumping, Blocking, Catching

make 8 lbs and put them into the comp league

(skip the blocking and catching)

test it out

maybe your stamina lb will have a higher aver speed come the second half..who knows right?

It isn't an agility thing...it's a trajectory thing. When you're slower and covering down the field, you're still in the way. When you're slower and going across the field, there's nothing between the QB and his target.

Being a specialist on defense simply means you are weak in one facet of yoru game, which means that facet can be exploited by more versatile teams.

LOL @ quoting the minors/majors, especially for such a complex build as an LB.

By that standard, LBs don't need to even hit the third cap for speed.

115 speed

Last two seasons he's averaging over 6 tackles a game in a pro league (and on a winning team so D sees less plays) with as many missed tackles as TFLs. He also kills it in pass defense with plenty of PDs and 3 Ints, has lvl 15 mentor and natural leader, and has 15 in D General.

Having an LB below 95 speed isn't a huge handicap for a team, but a DC has to work around them and the benefit they provide to the inside run game is not nearly worth what you are giving up to the passing and outside run game. In fact, because of having to move players to cover outside runs and passes better to make up for the slow MLB, a lot of teams actually end up worse against inside runs than if they had a speedy MLB.

I completely disagree. I think people really overestimate speed. My LB has slightly less than 95 speed and is quite good in coverage, stopping inside runs and stopping outside runs. People really overestimate speed and underestimate agility.

I actually agree, if you are trading the speed to pump up agi then it can definitely work. But most people itt are talking about taking away from speed to add to tac or str which is very rarely correct.
