LBs actually need a bit more speed, because half of their coverage is parallel to the LOS. Once things start moving upfield, lower speed works, but crossing is different (which is why in patters work so well for WRs)
kinda funny how that works out....seems like speed should help vertical and agility would be the key to crossing routes
