Better game, more people play. More people play, better opportunity to make more money. If Bort's not interested in delivering the best product possible-he's cutting his nose off to spite his face.
You don't think he's set for a long-time already? He's got 11 seasons worth of millions of players that at the minimum can are 100 flex.
So there is 1,751,043 in the game at 9.20 PM ET.
If every team in GLB had a roster filled to the average players needed based on GLB demand (create a player screen), each team would have 9,100 players worth of flex. Times 9,100 by the 1,751,043 players in the game and you get 15,934,491,300 flex at the minimum.
Here's my math
There is 144 leagues of "Real teams" that cost 1,000 flex. That totals 2,304 teams. So just BUYING these teams cost 2,304,000 flex. Another 2 million Bort has pocketed.
Then, there is 73 leagues of 400 flex worth teams, which gives us a grand total of 1,168 teams that cost 467,200 flex.
So we've got a grand total of 3,202 teams, you then times that by the 9,100 needed per a team average which gives us 29,138,200 flex for players.
So in all, we've got 29,138,200 flex for players/ 2,304,000 for buying a regular team/ 467,200 for buying a 400 flex team.
Without adding in the total of teams that renewed and players boosting, that is 31,909,400 flex for buying teams and filling them. Meaning, that just off this, he's earned 31 million dollars since the start. Now, you've gotta remember how much he's paid for running the server, and database updates and all other charges going into this site. So in all, I'm pretty sure he's set.
My math is probably off somewhere, but that's what I figured. And even though you can argue CPU teams, people still had to pay for them to start and only get half back if they sell back right away so. Plus, you can almost double the number with boosting and team renewal.
