How is it a money grab? You get your 70% back and probably he won't make them any more expensive than making another player. If he wanted your money he would have let you boost indefinitely. The decline would have made it not that worth it, but people would have boosted anyway.

If we're going to have to recruit coaches, let's cut back on the # of teams so that there is more supply.

Well if you are the team owner, coaches should be begging you for an opportunity to interview for the job!

LOL, yep that'll fix your problem. Join the QB Rollout league. Enjoy yourself.

Cash grab plain and simple.

I would just like the ability to create a league where you could invite and keep the same teams year in and year out. At this point a lot of us know who the good members/owners/players are. IMO it would be fun to keep those same folks around much like a college conference. The recruiting aspect of this game has sucked ass from the beginning. The mystical USA Pro was highly sought after for seasons now it is the World League. The newer low level teams will never reach the Pros or WL no matter how sucessful they are.

Oh noes cash grab@#!$@#$ Even though we still get our retirement flex@!#!@#!@

Idiots.

Lolmods saying it isn't a cash grab. Bort's running a business, of course he's trying to get more money. You can say retirement flex all you want but that already promised to you whenever you're done with the player, so its not like huge favor that he's allowing us what was already gonna happen.

He's adding a new element to the game that looks like it will be an absolute necessity to teams that want to compete, and it's going to cost more money.

Yeah I am rethinking this. Seems like most people don't find them that fun either. Guess I will stick to creating skill position players to use up my flex.

Because now teams will NEED coaches to be successful... unless we boycott them. Coaches cost flex to boost. The cost of running a team has gone up by 10 players.

Ok so you get back this retirement flex, what did you plan on doing with it? Making another player anyways right? What's the difference between using that retirement flex to make a coach or another player?

This entire thread makes me snicker.

Seriously people, if you are so against paying for coaches, then maybe you should be quitting the game by now.

Why not just double the number of flex to boost! If you are so against paying for boosting, maybe you should just quit!

I was planning on boosting my existing players with it. I have it all figured out to never put another dime in this game and ride it out for another 2 years or so. Just wish I could have built a time machine to go back and not bought a giant flex package last year.

Some teams were/are planning to retire their 1st generation players upon decline and use the 70% returned flex points towards creating and boosting subsequent generations of players. There would be a period where flex points wouldn't be bought at all (or in very small quantities at least) because of the huge pool of returned flex. Now with this coaching thing, competitive teams would have to buy even more flex----to fuel the coaches and subsequent generations of players. Sure a World League or Pro team could CHOOSE not to do the coaches thing, but they wouldn't be as competitive. Money, whatever the amount, is always worth more now than it is later. This goes for players who would get to suspend buying flex for a bit and keep their money or on the flip side Bort who would receive money upfront for all this extra flex being bought.

I'm sure Bort didn't intend for this to be about the money. Even still, no one can deny that more money is the immediate side effect.
