Well, I can go ahead and tell you how much gameplanning we did.

If we win ... basic AI

If we lose ... basic AI plus lolscrim.

I hope this helps.

nice research CTap. I thought someone did #'s yesterday to show USAPL was 8-7 vs. WL in Hazy's (or close to that, i may be wrong)... regardless i think i might go thru that bracket and look myself in a bit.

I well could have missed a game or two, I guess... but I don't think so.

Will run back through it again real quick. Also, will list the games I found once I do that.

where are the first edition of whatever these rankings are anyway? I think these are the ones that punished us big time for losing a close game where we led most of the game against HHW in the playoffs...

OK, spent more than 5 minutes on it this time as I had missed 2 USAPL wins...

NOTE: This is FAR from scientific. I merely took a 5 minute pass and broke all USAPL and WL teams into one of 3 categories: Probable playoff team, possible playoff team, or highly unlikely to make the playoffs.

I then used this to look at how the two leagues fared in head-to-head games. And yes, I understand that there is no way of knowing who did or did not scout, game plan, test, not test, etc. This was more just an exercise to see how the leagues seem to shake out when facing each other on more even terms (meaning playoff team vs playoff team as opposed to say playoff team vs gutted team)...

Here are the results, through about 20 minutes ago and presuming I missed no games::
Overall USAPL leads the series 11-8

When matching up a probable playoff teams vs each other, USAPL leads 3-1.
When matching up a probable USAPL playoff team vs WL possible playoff team, USAPL leads 3-0.
When matching up a probable USAPL playoff team vs WL non-playoff team, USAPL leads 2-0.

When matching up a possible USAPL playoff team vs a probable WL playoff team, WL leads 1-0
When matching up a possible USAPL playoff team vs a possible WL playoff team, it is tied 1-1
When matching up a possible USAPL playoff team vs a WL non-playoff team, USAPL leads 1-0.

When matching up a USAPL non-playoff team vs a WL probable playoff team, WL leads 2-0.
When matching up a USAPL non-playoff team vs a WL possible playoff team, WL leads 3-0.
When matching up a USAPL non-playoff team vs a WL non-playoff team, USAPL leads 1-0.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some thoughts on the results:

When the teams are evenly tiered, USAPL leads 5-2. In evenly tiered matchups thus far, USAPL is getting best of WL.
When one team is higher tiered than the other, the higher tiered team has not yet lost.

WL playoff teams are 4-3 vs USAPL teams, but 2 of the wins came at the expense of unlikely playoff teams from USAPL.
USAPL playoff teams are 8-1 vs WL teams, with 2 of the 8 coming vs unlikely WL playoff teams.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keeping in mind that we have no way to discern the true amount of effort put in by either team in any of the games between the two leagues, we can still at least draw the conclusion that in scrimmages played, both leagues have played pretty evenly (slight edge to USAPL for now) whenever the talent wasn't largely mismatched in one or the other's favor.

I would say that this does lend some credence to those saying that v1 of the GLB Rankings are way too slanted in favor of WL teams. The teams in USAPL, at all levels, appear to be playing evenly with the WL teams thus far. So to say that possible playoff contenders in WL should be 20 spots higher than probable playoff contenders in USAPL (as the current rankings say in a few cases) does not seem to be supported by the scrimmages played thus far.
