No doubt, Childress is an idiot. Actually, the whole managment part of the Vikings sucks, not quite as bad as the Lions but they aint good.

Really? Because their drafting has been pretty spot on the past few seasons since Wilf took the team over... FA signings have been good. Just our QB & Coach that have been questionable at best.

Spot on?

Since 2000, all you have to show for is McKinnie in 2002, Kevin Williams in 2003, Greenway and possibly Griffin in 2006, AD in 2007, 2009 too early to tell. Thats not a good showing with that many picks.

FA signings, go ahead and list em cause i cant think of any good ones. I know P. Williams was a pickup, i just cant remember when.

But management lets Childress be stupid and in turn, they are part of the stupidity. My dad is a Vikes fan, its funny listening to him every season with high hopes, only to be let down. Should hear him now rave about Favre, lol.

Tyrell Johnson was a solid pick up last season (even tho he got suspended for drug charges or something this season)...Ray Edwards was also a decent pick back in 2006. Mewelde Moore in 2004 (may not be with the team anymore, but certainly produced for them when in and produced greatly for Steelers since being there as well)....EJ Henderson in 2003 (how the fuck could you miss this one?)

As far as drafting goes...MN has been screwed by injuries and are screwing themselves by picking guys of bad character.

As far as FA's go...Hutchinson, Leber, Longwell, Richardson, and Berrian all come to mind. Along with the trade for Allen. Could also add Antoine Winfield and Chester Taylor to this list. Also could add Madieu Williams if he actually plays a full season this year.

Missed Hutch, that was huge. Tyrell Who? Edwards, decent not great. Berrian still isnt as good as Viking fans think he is, we''ll see how he does if Favre can throw that far all season long. Winfield, alright ill give ya that one, hes pretty good against the run. But thats about it for the FAs, the rest you mentioned are scrubs. Henderson was a draft pick from 03, decent, nothing special though, had 2 above average seasons nothing to "holy fuck how could you miss this one" about

Drafting though, just terrible. So many wasted picks, stupid picks. In 9 years, only 5 guys that have ended up being producers with AD being the biggest prize so far.

Henderson is one of the best MLB's in football. The only reason you didn't hear about him last season was a season ending injury.

There were talks all over by nearly every scouting magazine or broadcast that MN had one of the best LB crews in the NFL until Henderson went down, then it was a question of whether they would be able to be consistent on defense. In which they ended up playing pretty well still. This is pretty much like calling Barnett nothing special as well. But if thats what you believe there...well then i guess at least your consistent.

Tyrell started at safety for Williams when he got injured and did a pretty bang up job. Altho Williams is still the clear starter when healthy.

I would say we have done our share of wasting picks in GB in the 07' and 08' drafts...09' is still too early to tell.

I know enough about Henderson to know how good he is, i see him play during the season. I also know that Barnett is a better MLB. But Barnett is weaker against the run, where as Henderson is weaker against the pass.

As for talks of the Vikings as one of the best LBer crews in the NFL? Middle of the pack, maybe above average, definitely not one of the best. They arent even in the same league as groups like the Ravens, Chargers, Steelers, Bears......

Yes we have wasted picks as well. Carroll, Reynolds and Harrell to name a few but we have had alot more quality/luck with ours. Then if we want to go thru the Wolf days, well, everyone knows his name from what he did.

But one could argue back that AD is worth a whole lot of wasted picks, then in the 90's you could say the same for Moss.

The Vikings are still just a disappointing team. Until they can win a SB or at least get to one, its lol. Even if Favre does somehow perform a miracle and help them there, Minny needed the help of a Packer to do it, lol.

Uh... I'm from the Twin Cities... Vikings fan born n bred.
Which is how I BECAME a Pats fan.

98 Vikings.. not even gonna talk about the NFC Championship game... anyway.. they scored the MOST points ever. On turf...

Then 2 years later these fucking announcers are calling the Rams the greatest show on turf... FUCK THE RAMS...

Then they play the Pats when I was at Basic. Fuck yeah, that's when I became a Pats/Brady fan by far. Have been ever since.

Yes.. thank you.

And EJ will make the Pro Bowl this season and Barnett won't. That'll shut you up... wait... no it won't
Logic fails you, I forgot.

Let's see who else though. How could you call Winfield only above Average? PRO BOWL
Pat Williams - PRO BOWL
Kevin Williams - PRO BOWL (how the fuck is AD the only stud? KW is TOP 3-4 DT's in the NFL easy)
Jared Allen - HUGE trade
Bernard Berrian - Good trade (our WR's have sucked since we made the 2nd worst Viks trade ever *cry for Randy Moss* )
Greenway is very good
Leber is good
wish we didn't lose Sharper @ SS but his backup has been 2 years in the training and is decent
Hutchinson - PRO BOWL
McKinnie - PRO BOWL (Also drafted when I was at AIT)
Birk - too bad he left ... but PRO BOWL
AD - nuff said
Chester Taylor - Would start on half the NFL teams out there
And last...

Brett willfuckyourmother Favre

watching the game right now... it looked bad to someone who doesn't know a damn thing about football. But it looked VERY promising to someone who knows what to look for.

And to the idiot who said GB was going 12-4... That's just fucking funny.

MD,
I have noticed you and others (mostly Bears fans) have been down on Berrian plenty in these NFL discussions, but name me 10 better deep threat WR's in the NFL right now, he is certainly a top 10 and the best out in the free agent market for 2008, they had no other choice and it has worked out well so far, about 950 yards and 7 TD's with the subpar QBing they had last season is great for a deep threat WR, plus who had the longest TD reception in the NFL last season, if it wasn't Berrian he had to be top 3.
I bet the Bears and Cutler wished they still had him.

Ha Ha once again showing his ignorance at least a half dozen possession receivers in there. Not deep threats . How can you be considered a deep threat with a 4.6 40 yard dash? Fucking Moron

you would take Berrian over any of those guys?

if you like, take Welker, Hines Ward and any other players you want off that list and you'll still have a good 15+ 'deep threats'

Berrian is not a top ten deep threat.

maybe top 25.

Take a look at the above list, easily can take 10 of them out of there that are better deep threats than Berrian and much better overall WRs. Im not saying Berrian is the worst but for fucks sakes, hes not a top 10 WR or deep threat like Vikes fans think he is.
