The main difference being, one team involved is great, and the other one blows goats.

edit: bolded is a reference to DDL.

They'd have my vote for best team ever, S7 WSI pretty close behind. Beating MEM 3 times in a season is an extremely hard thing to do (probably hasn't been done before and too lazy to look), they beat the top 4 teams in cpLOL including drygerian twice. The quality of teams they played day in and out throughout there schedule was very tough and to come out of it with only one loss speaks to how great of a team they are. GJ guys.

I saw it live.

TSE did it all sexy-like.

One of the best ever without a doubt, their season was one for the ages. I have some difficulty calling them the GOAT though due to their having so many wins by 5 points or less, and there are a few teams from the past that just dominated opponents.

We only beat them twice and by a combined total of 7.

I get what Saris is saying about Boston and the way they completely obliterated everyone in USA in Season 6. That was a damn impressive season (we were victimized twice by the Nighthawks that season), but let's look at the numbers. In 16 regular season games and 4 playoff games...
Boston, Season 6
Average points scored: 67.9
Average points allowed: 9.45
Average margin of victory: 58.45

Cincinnati, Season 10
Average points scored: 69.9
Average points allowed: 12.05
Average margin of victory: 57.85

Not really much separating the two teams. Comparing the two is kinda like comparing the '85 Bears to the '00 Ravens. Both had fantastic seasons, but there's really no way to compare the two teams since they're basically from different eras. I'd be inclined to say 1a) Boston; 1b) Cincinnati.

For an overall season in GLB, I don't think anyone touches Cincinnati's season. 38-1 overall, 17-1 against Top 25 teams, 6-1 against the Top 10 from the last GLB poll. I think West Scranton's Season 7 comes close, but our SOS this season was unreal.

The Shockers have played the most difficult season schedule ever attempted, and they did it with just one loss. Simply amazing.

I ran a quick RPI to view the SOS numbers (2/3rd opponent's win%, 1/3rd opponent's opponent's win%). It's stupid.
Shockers have the #1 SOS rank at .629
Krazy is 2nd at a mere .590 and MEM third with .586 - insane lead for SOS

Overall RPI is an even bigger gap, of course; Shockers at .714, MEM at .658, Marblehead at .656, Bonn at .654. You can see most of the top teams are close, but Cinci blows them all away.

Still Nighthawks IMO, I've never seen any team dominate the way they did, shockers is close #2.

IMO, the Shockers are the best team to ever play this game, let alone in this ssn. What they did, against the teams they did it, can't be touched. Absolutely no disrespect to Bonn, they're a hell of a team, but no way you're going to beat a team built like Bonn unless you GP hard for them. I'm confident that the Shockers were focusing all their energies on MEM. Even if you discount that, The Shockers played a significantly harder sched and only lost 1 game. Bonn lost 2 with a significant easier sched (awesome team, no disrespect intended).

This Shockers team is easily the best team to ever play dot ball, IMO...That also says a shit ton about MEM.

The 08 Patriots are also the greatest team to ever play the game of football, let alone in 08. You can't lose the championship and be the champion. Cincy set that game up to prove world domination with the World Trophy.

It is harder to gameplan for a team you don't see 2 or 3 times a year, true. What do you think happened to Bonn with HHW?

In NCAA basketball, the NFL, BCS....losses at the end mean more then the beginning.

you can't lose the championship and be the champion.

its tough. Tears are shed. feelings are hurt. But when #3 whips #1 like an old hag in the reformation, what can you do?

Great points, but no one I know views anything except the league champ games as the championships, hence the uproar over the tourney idea instead of WL fiasco

Gameplanning for GLB nowadays makes the Cincy accomplishment much more significant imo. GLB has become significantly more complicated in the last few seasons.
