heyyy i got a shout-out. nice.

the Pimps have definitely been the class of the WEPL ever since they were promoted. almost ironic because of the hard time I gave them during their first season on the WEPL forum.

without the Pimps, the WEPL doesnt seem like the same league anymore. but then again, GLB barely seems like GLB anymore.

one day im gonna end up playing for a joebarber-run team. it'll probably be like 8-10 seasons down the line because im waiting for GLB to get out of this funk that its in before i create any new characters. in my opinion, GLB has been overrun by loudmouths who think in terms of numbers rather than cause-and-effect, and they are dictating the way this game is evolving at the moment.

You know I can't forget about Willard and the Stampede

agreed, GLB just doesnt' seem like GLB. I can remember the first couple of seasons when sim time was like christmas, now it's like "what kind of backward ass shit happened in this sim"

every season it seems like there are more sim "problems" than the previous season. its gotten out of hand. i would bet Bort doesnt even like this game anymore.

Seriously doubt the first part, people who claim that forget about little details like taxes and operating costs ... Does he havea turnover in the million(s)? Certainly. Is he a millionaire? Highly unlikely.

At least the pimps got to feel the heat of Jason Warrick before they could lose any of their players.

Just do the match for WEPL alone....just a ballpark and example..

WEPL = 32 teams = 50 players per team = 1600 players in WEPL
Now say 45 players per team boost and for the sake of this just say it cost 200fp per level for every player. So 600FP to boost.
45x32x600=864,000FP
Thats $27,000 just for boosting a season....now throw in the people that have CE, which is almost everyone so say again 45 players per team....
45x32x900=1,296,000FP
And then you have to add that it costs like 400FP per season to own a team, so 32x400=12,800FP
So just all that combined is 2,172,800FP
Then you have to figure what packages people buy and what not and its been ten seasons already....so anyways, chances are pretty good that hes made over a million...

Sad to see the Pimps go, certainly were entertaining value especially in the early seasons when T-Noles was around. Good luck in your endeavours.

I don't doubt the flex #'s, but there's:
- free flex
- taxes
- paypal transaction fees
- servers / bandwidth
- DigitalDaggers

Bort's been working double overtime on this for two years. He's obv a damn good coder who could easily make 1-200k working a regular job. Took a huge risk and started a revolutionary game, making probably just 2-3 times the amount he could have made sitting in an office for 40 hrs/week.

So I'm sure he's well off, but not even close to be in resentful territory haha. DigitalDaggers OTOH, if he really 'owns' 50% of GLB.... *shakes head*

Again, like many people you are just focusing on the incoming money, but totally neglect stuff like taxes, server cost, other people he has to pay, not to mention FP giveaways, FP recovery from retirements ... As I said, I am certain his turonver is in the million (s), but that does not mean his income is.

I was under the impression at least in the beginning that he still held a full time job while doing GLB. Was I mistaken? If that's the case he's probably making 50-100K if not more already plus whatever he makes with GLB. As a commissioner of two fantasy football leagues I wonder if it has been worth it. regardless, he's about to face a very pivotal point in GLB with season 1 player decline. Sure, there are the core users who now have a slew of players, but I'm sure there are a chunk of players who only have S1 guys and once those players are done so are the agents. Not to mention teams who don't have 'next generation' plans in stone, that could lead to attrition as well.

i believe he quit that job to work on GLB full time.

although methinks he quit that job to work on GLB part time, and sunbathe and drink strawberry daiquiris on his balcony while being serviced by a young vietnamese massage therapist part time.
