Bruiser doesn't work - period.

Last year my PB had 15 bruiser and was TFL 10 times in 194 caries (.05%) - the season before with zero in Bruiser he was TFL 6 times in 267 carries (.02%)

Just like so many other VAs - worthless crap

Bruiser works, you clearly just don't have the SAs, speed, strength and/or carrying to make it useful.

Bruiser does too work. Do you have Short Yardage Monster? This could be the reason you are getting TFLs.

I <3 [K]nowshon [M]oreno, my team's power back. He's actually out performing our scat back, which is strange.

TFLs are pretty much the O-line's fault, just about every time. Bruiser is so much better than any other VA for a power HB... I can't think of any reason to touch anything else first. I've broken 3 tackles and still been hit for a TFL.

If you want a good comparison, compare how many broken tackles you're seeing. The effects are very obvious and have a huge impact. Bruiser is pretty much the reason power HBs got nerfed as much as they have, when it came out I remember breaking 7 tackles in one play.

Also, it's 5% and 2%.

I'm still trying to figure out why an increase from 2-5% means bruiser doesn't work. That seems like a pretty fair variance in there, especially considering over-adjusting LBs who were gashed in S8.

But when people think greatest running back to ever play, they think...Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Gayle Sayers. Mainly because they remember them slicing line and burning everyone in their path.

The greatest RB of all time was a power back. Jim Brown. Walter Payton was more power than elusive. Earl Campbell, Larry Csonka, John Riggins, etc. are HOF power backs.

Brown was as big as, if not bigger than, most of the defenders in his time, though. The only guy you could say that about today is Brandon Jacobs.

You've got a lot of shorter, heavier HBs now, but proportionally they're probably pretty close to the LBs/SS's.

Michael Turner (5'10" 244)
Portis (5'11" 221)
LT (5'10" 221)
Gore (5'9" 217)

vs.

Urlacher (6'4" 258)
Ray Lewis (6'1" 250)
David Harris (6'2" 243)
Antonio Pierce (6'1" 238)

Brandon Jacobs is more of a LB/TE/DE-sized RB, which is just plain freaky.

those are all big LBs too. Most OLBs run around 6'0, 230-235...so they don't significantly outweigh a lot of backs (3-4 OLBs are obviously bigger). Jacobs is bigger than a LOT of DEs (Freeney, Mathis, Adams, Dumervil, just to name a few)

You also played on a different team, different league last year. Could have a lot to do with different competition and different blocking.

Possible - but doubtful, A teams both seasons - similar personnel and strategies.

Oh and Viscount is a dumbass - I'll rank builds with her any time.
