EVERYONE quits because of RL issues, but funny how they always correspond with the downfall of their team?
Fact of the matter is that Hazy's team probably wouldn't be a top 25 team next season with a 55 man roster. His low stamina guys would get killed in the 2nd half if they actually had to play special teams like everyone else. His 2 special teams TDs per game also helped alot.
We knew since last season that the roster limit was going to be in place after season 10.
Maybe it was just bad/good timing of why he is quitting, but the fact is that he wouldn't have been able to compete next season without his roster exploit.
I remember when people bitched at me for giving one of my players $10 to boost (back before the rule). I know you have also. But they said it would ruin the game because I was going to "buy a championship". Then when guys like Hazy spend $10 a player for 50 of his players (or whatever number it is), no one says anything?
He is obviously pretty good at dots and smart enough to realize that an army of low stamina guys would be the only way to make up ground on upper level players, but let's call it what it is: he bought himself a championship in a way that no other teams could do with just pure recruiting (no one wants to boost their LBs and DEs to play 10-15 plays a game as the 7th or 8th player in that position).
If Bort didn't fix the roster limit, then the only way to win a championship in the future would have been to buy an army of players and win with the roster exploit. Whomever spent the most money wins.
I'm going to do an interesting post on roster size and predicting the winner of a game. I think you will be surprised.

I won long before I had an over sized roster. I'd continue to win if I chose to play. My Pee Wee team won 2 gold trophies in the 2 seasons I played Pee Wee. My casual team is in the conference championship game. I don't GM many teams, but the teams I do usually get to the conference championship game or better. I know this game pretty well and I can do fine, big roster or regular size roster. I chose to use the big roster because it made sense strategically and was available for me to do so.
Unlike you, I know how to win when it matters.
