I don't really worry about rankings ... I enjoy reading them, and appreciate the effort you put in to prepare them. But they are easily skewed by gut jobs (especially if its mid season), and the 255-0 scores.

If you have time, and want to try something, change the scores for the gut jobs to 255-3 (for all of them). See if that makes a difference.

A guy in my eepro league for the gut job games just puts in the scores as 80-0 instead of 255-0 because it makes it a bit more accurate.

where would you draw the line between a gut job and a good ole fashion ass kicking? seems to me that you penalize a team who wins big in an even match-up.

if you are looking at eliminating the shitty teams, couldn't you take those teams off the spread sheet? furthermore, if games vs cpu teams skew the ratings, shouldnt eastern teams be rated higher, as they have more cpu teams?

Rank ….... Strength of Record .............… Quality of Play ................… Team

4 …....................... 66 ........................... -2.700311088 .................... Los Angeles Tsunami
5 …....................... 65 ........................... 88.20105883 .................... Three Mile Island Meltdowns

whats the point of quality of play? i like the stat and always check to see that i am playing better than expected, but the above quote demonstrates that the spreadsheet is based solely from SoR

Was wondering what Strength of Record and Quality of Play actually mean? How do you some up with those numbers and what do they mean? I have no clue at all.

its scores vs the teams you've plays and vs the best in your league. Quality of play is who you've played and prolly when during the season you played them due to some teams being good early on and some tams being better later on.

Just goes to show you that rankings mean nothing because the generals are playing for the title.

Well, those rankings may be skewed because you boosted a bunch of players and added SP's at the end of the season so the stats are based on earlier performance. If you played the teams you lost to initally now there is a good chance you would have won those games. That is the equivalent of making a very late trade for a game changing player right vefore the playoffs which many teams do. The goal is making the playoffs and then bringing in the talent so you are more comopetive in the playoffs than the regular season.
