take a look at the team. hes stockpiling a huge amount of talent all over the team and paying big salaries to do it

he has calculated how to spend his last dollar after the last game, at which time the team will go bankrupt, all those high level players will scatter, and the team will be taken away from him and sent on to the next owner

but with all that huge amount of high level talent he will have successfully bought the championship

he obviously snubbing his nose at GLB and the rest of us. hes using the advantage he gained by *somebody* cheating in the first place to get a bunch of already good players signed really cheap to start off, then just rode the high level banned players to a good record. now he is just throwing money at FAs who want to simply get a championship

this is setting a really bad precedent. now any owner that doesnt care about losing their team the next season can do this to steal a championship late in the season. and if its 'legal' they will be able to keep their little trophy on their profile page

with all the work that goes into running a team there will be more and more owners who for one reason or another dont really want to be an owner anymore. i can easily see more of these tired owners trying it themselves once they see it works

thats going to suck big time for everybody. especially the contenders in the east - and especially us if they win it against us

I think the first thing that should be done is to make contracts run through full seasons. That would effectively stop the problem with available high level FAs right before the playoffs, the only one available players would be new. I think this would fix much of the problem.

BTW, do you think I did something wrong when I signed four players yesterday (lvl 12,12,13,13)? They signed for minimum contracts and picked our team in competition with many many other offers.

Here is the thing, he ( Richmond speed owner ) may not be in as much of a cash crunch as we think. He is going to host at least one playoff game, perhaps several. The cash infusions may be enough to carry him through the season.

If he makes it to the championship game he likely will not have to declare bankruptcy.

IF he pulls that off, it may not be as unethical as some are making it out to be. It would be a masterful job of managing his roster/cash. Of course it is all depending on him winning in the post season.

I'd hardly consider it masterful...its likely against the rules if Bort ever caught notice/paid attention. Trading banned players just seems completely wrong to me. Using your league position (which was obtained by a referral scheme and banned players) to hire free agents is again wrong.

He won't lose his team. The revenue from one playoff game I hear is enough to construct one stadium upgrade. Combine this with you don't pay salaries in the off-season, and gain season ticket money, he will be riding high. Pretty stupid.

the admins are is well aware of the situation

they would prefer to stop this kind of thing but they are getting a lot of resistance from the the majority members who dont want restrictions on levels of players signed

i think its stupid not to want some kind of parity controls but right now it looks like thats the way this site is going, at least until people learn that stuff like this will happen as a result

looks to me like richmond is now the odds on favorite to win the championship

I've been telling myself all along that the Chemistry Settings would be the great equalizer to deter loading up with High lvl FA's throughout the season and going into the playoffs. As of now, it's the only thing that's built into the game to reward owners/GM's for building new teams to compete the old fashioned way. Well after a few games I've seen over the last week, I have no faith in the Chemistry
setting at all, it means nothing at all. Having a 50 point advantage in overall
Chemistry should count for something. When a Lvl 16 WR ringer can catch balls
repeatedly while being triple covered by lvl 13's. Or when they Fumble 3 times and somehow manage to not lose any, it just amazes me. Or when I have my Defense set to defend 70% pass and they pass 70% what's a guy to do? Get Ringers of my own I guess

If this is allowed then we all should do it. Lets see if we can make our teams stronger too.

The bad thing is, teams that were established in Season 1 and have their Farm Systems in place, have a huge advantage now. Alot of them are choosing to fall back
and regroup in the BBB Leagues because their chances of winning here are better. Or send their backups down to dominate on the farm team.
