For the pathetically little it's worth, I couldn't agree more and knew this would be the standard 3rd and long D as soon as I saw it for the 1st time on the test server.

If Bort doesn't force at least 3 to rush on every down, the game just took yet another hit.

It shouldn't be a penalty. It flat out shouldn't be allowed. I don't want to play dungeons and dragons. I'd like to trick myself into believing that I'm playing FB. Can anyone tell me, in the 1000s of FB games we've all watched, including HS, college and pros, how many times have you seen the entire D drop back into coverage? Shit like this makes this game a joke.

but i'm saying. let's say it's 3rd and 10 and all 11 players drop back into some sort of man/zone coverage. how would the offense easily get the first down?

i'm sure they can stop the QB if he decided to run and the pass should be pretty much locked up

Thanks. I was tired of being ignored in the preseason thread.

Lets just say I've created a play or seventy. Most of them have been utter failures but some have worked out nicely.

As for dropping 11, I have some plays that work great, some that don't work worth a shit and other times the QB just throws it through 5 guys. Zone coverage is still broken as the day the game came out. I even made a play that ran 5 guys through the same hole, the rb ran right through them through the same hole for a gain. Gotta love it.

DEs suck so bad that we might as well use them for something productive.

Overall though, I like the sim this season. Then again, after last season I could watch grannie porn and be more amused than watching season 8 games so that isn't saying too much.

The sim is better now than last season for sure - but that isn't saying much. After season 8, GLB had nowhere to go but up, and it still has a long, long way left to improve. I do think though that for somebody to genuinely like the s8 sim better though, they had to have been somebody who was benefitted more by that sim than they are by s9. S8 was the worst sim in GLB history, and if it ever loses that title then that will be the season that I quit for good.

2 for sure... DE's playing a short zone isn't all that uncommon irl. DT and NT should be forced to play run or blitz.

Edit: and how about some fucking stunt plays for the DL already? Can't even do it with the DPC.

If it was a real football game, the QB would just hold onto the ball for as long as he wanted and wait for someone to get open. No matter how good your defense is, someone will eventually be open. Maybe if Bort makes it to where the WRs do some kind of back and forth getting open pattern after their normal route is over and the QB doesn't force throws but just waits as long as he wants for an open man.

Thats crap imo. Cheap fix. I created some D plays that have the Ends drop back deep and I really like the way it is progressing. Now because his shitty fucking code, he puts some stupid ass band-aid on it. Unreal

OOP penalties are lame if this game is still trying to keep real life, logical numbers.

More evidence this game needs a team of coders and some highly directed intensive effort to fix all the issues.
If it's going to make it to the next level... it just can't continue this way. Each season's fix brings with it another set of problems/exploits.

I would rather see the game completely shut down for a month and really... and I mean *really* get the sim working right, than suffer through season after season of F'ed up sims.

Love the game Bort... ya done good. But we're dying here.
