Your self-conscientiousness aside, i do kinda agree with you on strength over tackling but it also depends on what type of SS you wanna be. Coverage or fumbler, then yes. If you got the D-line and LBs to control the run game, then that fits fine. If the running game depends on you, then I think tackling becomes way more important. It all depends on how you want to approach it and the players around you.
It seems to me successful teams find players that complement each other.
